I rank this guy right up there with greats like Dub Taylor, Strother Martin, Ernest Borgnine, William Smith, Robert Tessier, Robert J. Wilke, Jack Elam, Lee Van Cleef, John Hoyt, Whit Bissell, George Kennedy, and a host of others. Most people, other than movie geeks like us, couldn't remember their names, but everybody always knew their faces. I can only thank God that these people made so many films before leaving us. Brion will forever be The Iceman to me, I thought it was one of his best roles. And it was brilliant to have one of the likable characters from the first 48 HOURS to turn out to be the heavy in the sequel.

Don't forget J.T. Walsh as well. Possibly the greatest character actor of all time, Thomas Mitchell. I think J.T. Walsh was a little better because of the vehicles he was in over Brion.
I always knew I was in for a treat when Brion was in a movie I was watching. He will be missed.
I just don't see any great character actors out there today.
