If he died in 1999 (and I always remember him from the small role he had in "48 Hours)why are there four IMBD credits for roles AFTER 1999?

I keep seeing him popping up in movies and TV series' so often that it almost seems hard to believe he's dead.

Production/Filming for those movies may have already begun in or before 1999 and after he died the director may have decided to use the scenes they already filmed.
How is that for an explanation?
