Today is the 20th anniversary of Sydney Pollacks remake of Sabrina. You may not remember the original Audrey Hepburn movie or Sydney Pollacks 1995 remake. Pollack wanted to cast Tom Cruise to play Harrison Fords younger brother. But when Cruise passed, Pollack made the unconventional choice of casting a guy who was best known for a basic cable daytime comedy show. The movie wasnt a hit. It didnt make Kinnear or costar Julia Ormond into movie stars. But it did transition Kinnear from TV into the movies.
At the time the movie was released, Movielines Martha Frankel interviewed Kinnear and asked how much money he had in his wallet.
