Hello,
I'm quite interested in reading a Myrna biography or Myrna's actual auto-biography. Her auto seems to be quite up there in cost unfortunately, though. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase it for a cheaper price? Preferably under $50. If not, do you know of a good Biography on her? I'm interested in a thorough biography with information not just on her career but her personal life as well. Suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!
You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.

Myrna Loy wrote an autobiography called 'Being and Becoming' [1988].
The first real biography on Myrna is 'Myrna Loy: The Only Good Girl In Hollywood' by Emily W. Leider from 2012.

There have been three books written just about Myrna, as mentioned earlier. Her autobiography came out in 1988 and can be hard to find but not impossible. The first book was actually a photo-packed paperback titled "Myrna Loy" by Karyn Kay in 1976 that reviews her films and career. In 1980 "The Films of Myrna Loy" was published by Lawrence J. Quirk that has details, photos, and credits on her prolific career. In 1979, Larry Carr wrote a book called "More Fabulous Faces", which is a pictorial of Myrna, Carole Lombard, Dolores Del Rio, Katharine Hepburn, and Bette Davis. All of these b111cooks are somewhat rare and sometimes when they are offered they are pricey but if you keep watching amazon.com or half.com I am would imagine before long you will come across a dealer who has a copy that will be offered for a more reasonable price in the $20 range although possibly not that low for the "Films of" book. Also copies of all of them show up on ebay every few months.

I think it's a real shame that no one has seen fit to publish an up to date biography of this great lady.
I'll try to rectify that some time in the next ten years!

The only two Myrna books published (aside from her autobiography) are 'The Films of Myrna Loy' by Lawrence J. Quirk (published in 1980 as part of the Citadel Press 'Films of' series) and 'Myrna Loy' by Karyn Kay (published in the mid 70s as part of the 'Pyramid Illustrated History of the Movies' series).
I haven't read the Pyramid book but I highly recommend the 'Films of' book. I think it's a real shame that no one has seen fit to publish an up to date biography of this great lady.

I have never even thought of any biographies written on her. I have never heard of any. Her autobiography is good. It's entertaining and certainly has a lot of information (and pictures) about her and her movies. I have a copy and I got it as a present one year, but I know you could find ones at places like ebay and half.com. Granted I don't know how much they would cost, but I think you should be able to find one under $50. I know mine was not that much, but then again I haven't looked at the prices of it in a while, so
Hope this helps. Also, try the local library if you can't find a reasonably priced one. I know my library doesn't have it, but other libraries in my area do and if I wanted to, I could request it and get it that way. Many libraries work like that.
