His speach he does at the black gates of mordor, I personally thinks its the best speach in cinema history. I could watch that 100 of times.

Mr. M. can do a lot of things but singing is surely not one of them, lol. His voice is weak and has no range.
I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!

Yes,111c I do agree, and I do think Mads is from the same place as Viggo! I'm a big fan of both of them.

Renaissance man, like Mads Mikkelsen. Must be a viking thing. Those guys can do anything.

I like it but it's an acquired taste. People were abusing him on the LotR yahoo group years ago about his singing. The guy is mult talented.

He does smoke a lot. I didn't know about his flamenco singing, LOL, what a hoot!

Seems to me he might have wrecked his voice from

chain smoking
and

his flamenco singing.
Just a theory, ofcourse. He might have always had a squeaky voice.

The speech itself was great, Grimes, and yes, he does have a nasally voice. He speaks in the back of his throat.

Oh dani, do confess! His voice was a bit nasely, but I thought the speech was fine.

I didnt mind it, probably because I had such a crush on the character, but one of my brothers said the same as you, Wp. He said his voice was distractingly squeaky.

It wasn't the best in the world. Mr. M. just doesn't have a powerful enough voice to carry it off. It broke amd wavered and ruined the whole effect, IMO.
I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!

There's a tendency to have a great pre-battle speech a la LOTR-ROTK in every movie now. ROTK's speech is a take on Tolkien's Aragorn's dismissal one of the faint-hearted in the book.
