Mine is definatly Michael! John Cleese is a really close 2nd, but Michael is just.I don't know. His characters are hilarious in all the Python movies, they're all just kind ofquirkier. Well, Launcelot was REALLY funny in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but I think my favorite was Galahad.
"What a strange person." lol

John Cleese and Michael Palin tied for first in my book (the chemistry between them is palpable and they seem to always be present for the best sketches/scenes)
Terry Gilliam is third. He is the glue that holds Monty Python Shows together. The animations are absolutely clever, wholly original, and aid in creating the aesthetic that made Python so surreal and terribly funny. His acting contributions are less immediately recognizable, but when you look for him he is usually one of the funniest on screen. Hes got crazy eyes and a big goofy grin (see Cardinal Fang in "The Spanish Inquisition") I'm rambling on about him a bit since he has been largely underrepresented on this board. Also he was Patsy in "The Holy Grail" and delivers my favorite line of the movie, "It's only a model." Meaning of life has some great Gilliam moments as well, including him in drag as the hostess at the conversation restaurant, "It's real Hawaiian food served in an authentic medieval English dungeon atmosphere."
Throw in Graham Chapman, Eric Idol and Terry Jones as another tie, just too hard to decide between them, feel guilty putting one above the other. Love Grahams ability to scream as well as his accent, which makes him the perfect not-so-straight man. Eric Idol, the music python with great comedic timing/rhythm. Love his characters mood swings, (See him as Gaston, the waiter, in Meaning of Life as just one example.) Terry JonesSPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM baked beans SPAM SPAM
Point is they're all awesome and ranking them is pointlessbut we do it anyway. lol

Michael Palin is my favorite Python too. His parts in Holy Grail as Galahad, the swallow-savvy guard, Dennis, the Knight who says "Ni!" and all the other roles in that movie are hilarious. I love the line Galahad has when they're talking to the French guard, 'He says they've already got one!' And he is hilarious as the dad in the Meaning of Life. John Cleese is also hilarious, as the Minister of Silly Walks, and all those other silly roles. Generally, I just love any British comedies Mr. Bean, Fawlty Towers, all of that.

Instead of saying who is my #1 favoriteI'm gonna say why I like each one.
P.S. I'm just recalling these off the top of my headso the lines probably aren't exactly right.
Graham Chapman: "Stop that! Stop! This sketch is much too silly.."
"Outside I have police dog Anniewho is not only trained to sniff out elicit substances..but it also a junkie!"
"I'm glad that you were all able to join my little pahtayand Flopsie's glad too, aren't you Flopsie? Aren't you Flopsie? grabs Flopsie by the ears and shoots him That'll teach you to play hard to get."
John Cleese: "What about my rustic monologue.I'm not sleeping with that producer again."
"I have a theoryIt is mineYou may ask me what it is that is my theory."
"This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! He has retired and gone to meet his maker! If you hadn't nailed him to the perch he'd be pushin up the daisies! It's a stiff! Bereft of life he rests in peace! Thisis an EX-PARROT!!" ok i know that line was definately wrong..but i've got 4 more Pythons to talk about!
Terry Gilliam: actually I'm afraid I can't really quote him
Eric Idle: "A wink's as good as a nod to a blind bat!"
"I'll have a whiskey for first coursea whiskey for main courseand a whiskey for pudding..and a bottle of wine"
"Blonde prostitute will indulge in any sexual activitywhat does that mean?"
Terry Jones: "Oh molusksI thought you said bacon."
"To dicuss this topic we have a duck a cat and a lizard.."
So because everyone did so terribly..I'm going to award first prize to the girl with the biggest tits!!
Michael Palin: anything to declare "Yes 10 watchesI MEANuhh 1..just one watchno! Not even one watchno watches!!" where are you coming from "switzerlandNO! Uh..I mean.."
"It's not a razer cutRAZER RAZER RAZER BLOOD SPURT OUT DEATH SCREAM MURDER!!!"
"The place of the nude in my bed- in the HISTORY of my bed- Art!"
Favorite sketch: The sketch were Michael comes in as Mr. Gumby looking for Dr. Gumby (John) the 'brain specialist'.
J: Hullo!
M: Are you da brain specialist?
J: Hullo!
M: ARE YOU DA BRAIN SPECIALIST??
J: No..no I am not the brain specialist, no, no I am not.YES! Yes I am the brain specialist!
M: My brain hurts!
J: Well lets take a look Mr. Gumby
proceeds to pull off michael's pants
M: No, no, my brain in my HEAD!
J: Oh!
smacks michael's head a few times
J: It will have to come OUT!
M: Out of my HEAD?
J: Yes I must get the nurseNURRSE!NURRRRSE!NURRnurse appearsRRRRRSE!NURRRRRSE!NURRRRRSE! looks startled when he notices her Take Mr. Gumby to a brain surgeon!
