I actually had the chance to meet him before the presentation/ book signing got under way. I was in the bar upstairs in the hotel and he came down to chat to the press who were there having a drink.
I'm not part of the press but a friend of mine was and she very kindly helped to introduce me to him. He was very chatty and interested in what I had to say and he couldn't have been nicer.
He did reveal that a third volume of his diaries will eventually be published.
Terrific guy indeed.
