I don't know about anyone else but Slim Pickens was the only funny highlight of that movie. When he's in that Jap sub throwing his boots in the crapper and faking that huge dump. I think it's hysterical.

I was watching Strangelove recently & just made the connection bt similar scenes in the two movies.
In the plane in Dr S, Pickens checks off a lengthy list of items in the crew's emergency kits, "One genu-ine pack of" The list goes on. In 1941 he repeats the exact same intonation & cadence on the checklist of items found on him down in the Japanese sub, which is when his compass is discovered.

I love 1941!!! It is on my top ten list. Awesome John Williams soundtrack, w/ a march that is as good as any Sousa march.

He was great in this(As Hollis 'Holly' Wood), along with Toshiro Mifune:
"Where HollyWood?"
"Right here."
"Where?"
"Here."
"Who?"
"Hollis Wood."
"Where?"
"Right here."
Then there's the whole swallowed compass/toilet/prune juice scene. "You ain't gettin' $#%& outta me."

And there is no other movie on earth where you will ever see Slim Pickens,
Toshiro Mifune and Christopher Lee all in the same scene. Priceless.

Thats a good part thats for sure
I always thought this was a funny movie (1941) apparantly I'm the only one, but when ever I just need to chill, and laugh, this is one of the movies I watch.
I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney, than driving with Ted Kennedy
