I binge watched the whole series, including a retrospective that followed the 100th episode, I think, where the cast came out at the end, donned in formal attire. That ultimately left me in shock, since Rob Reiner was bald. I never knew he wore a hairpiece on AITF. “Married With Children,” which I started watching at the age of 11, just three years after it premiered, is hands-down my favorite show. I’m very glad that I got to experience the legendary classic that paved the way for the Bundys, and that I got to appreciate Rob Reiner while he was still alive, as opposed to jumping on the “90210” and “Golden Girls” bandwagon when Luke Perry and Betty White died. Yes, I’ve been living under a rock. R.I.P., Meathead.

It was meant to be about the growing culture divide between the youth and older generations at the time. Archie Bunker being and angry bitter racist wasn't celebrated. The show was built on him being the butt of the jokes for his ignorant views. The actor who played him was a big liberal.

Archie is pretty offensive. I dont like the show at all. I didnt like it when I was a kid growing up and I dont like it as an adult.
I have no idea why it was popular. It was just racist bullshit permitted on national tv. Fat ugly bald white man and his retarded wift, fat son in law and spacey daughter.
