It's good to read that i'am not alone as a frustrated Sword and Sorcery fan!!
I hope also Fire & Ice get made first! But by this guy i'am always afraid that the movie never get made!
There are no new information on the movie and no interviewer ask about the movie!! May be it's forbidden to ask?

I mostly agree about Machete, though I do think there is a way to complete the series without further harming his reputation. Keep in mind that the guy runs El Rey Network. Obviously he's not going to spend $20 or 30 million for a TV movie on a little-watched cable network, but he could possibly get a 10-13 episode season out of a small "Land of the Lost"-style series or even an animated film or series in the vein of Jonny Quest or other old-school adventure cartoons. But I agree that if he even attempts to release another Machete theatrically his career will be pretty much over.
I also agree that Battle Angel and Fire & Ice are his best prospects moving forward. I'm just not sure about Jonny Quest. I know the show has plenty of fans (and, although I think he's mostly doing it for the paycheck, I'm sure Rodriguez is one of them), but how often have live-action adaptations of cartoons actually worked as far as box office goes? I know Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones both got sequels, but both shows were still in reruns constantly and new incarnations were being made when the first movies were released. Same with the two Looney Tunes movies although they were a mix of animation and live action. I'm not sure how the Yogi Bear movie did, but, admittedly, The Smurfs, The Muppets (I know, not really a cartoon) and Alvin and the Chipmunks seemed to have done well without any previous push to expose kids to older incarnations. I'm just not sure how well-known Jonny Quest is these days. It sort of seems like Warner Brothers is making the same mistake Disney did with John Carter and The Lone Ranger. I hope I'm wrong, though, and the movie turns out to be a good watch and a hit. If it's done right it could be as much fun as Guardians of the Galaxy.
As for sword and sorcery, Arnold is still talking up the new Conan in every interview he does but I haven't heard anything official yet. Personally I'm a bit skeptical of any Conan without John Milius's involvement. Hopefully either it or Fire & Ice is made eventually. It may be a hit and get them moving on the other.

I kind of suspect that hb68is decision to take on Jonny Quest and Battle Angel are all about getting Fire & Ice and Machete Kills Again In Space made eventually.
Hear me out
I hope you are right.
Either that, or that Battle Angel will come after "Fire & Ice" - there was no release date announced:
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/markcassidycbm/news/?a=125925
"No release date was provided"
This to me suggests that it might still be a while into the future.
However, Rodriguez should forget all about Machete. The first movie killed that franchise, no one cares about it anymore. If made, I am convinced it will pull a Sin City 2, tank hard and really do a number on his career. Then we can really forget about "Fire & Ice".
Unlike ANY of his current recurring stuff, "Fire & Ice" could revitalize his career, and that's where his focus should be right now - they same could probably be said for "Battle Angel", but as a frustrated Sword and Sorcery fan, I just hope we get "Fire & Ice" sooner or later.
Tesla was robbed!

I kind of suspect that his decision to take on Jonny Quest and Battle Angel are all about getting Fire & Ice and Machete Kills Again In Space made eventually. Hear me out. I'm not sure how much cash he has on hand. Probably more than enough to completely finance another Machete given the budgets of the last two, but Fire & Ice will likely be a good deal more expensive and even if he has the money to independently finance it (and he very well may), he has no experience with independent distribution and marketing. So he will need to convince somebody else to distribute it and of the last three movies he has directed Spy Kids 4 underperformed at the box office, while both Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For flopped. He needs to prove that he can still deliver a hit and I think attempting to do so is his primary motivation in taking on these two latest projects. Hopefully they will indeed become hits. That would greatly increase the chances of distributors signing on for Rodriguez's own projects like Fire & Ice.
