Of course, Rod reprised the role (along with Alan Young as Filby) some 30 years later in the half-hour follow-up to the 1960 classic.
I just meant that Williams could have played the younger George in a sequel to the 1960 original.

I see it too. The Birds was on TCM this evening and I couldn't get over how oddly he resembled Robin Williams in some way.

In certain shots he does look like Robin Williams, no doubt about it. I thought so before I came here. And I can see Williams acting out that story and Rod not being amused. Williams can and did come on a bit too strong sometimes. Both were excellent actors.

I came here exactly because of his ressemblance to Robin Williams ( or vice versa?)
I've seen the twilight zone episode he's in just now and i couldn't help but wonder if he was really his father. How's it possible that they're so much alike, and somehow with simillar expressions and a tad of craziness to them xD.
Some sort of reeincarnation i would guess? xD

What is it with you people and sequels/remakes? Just enjoy the originals and stop thinking about making inferior copies.

I see absolutely no resemblance between Rod Taylor and Robin Williams. They didn't look remotely alike.
Robin Williams as a young Rod Taylor? No way. Again, they have no physical similarities whatsoever (other than not being very tall).
I actually heard that story about Robin's remark to Rod and while I don't know if it's true I think it's just silly, certainly not "awesome". Though I would think Rod Taylor should have taken it as the obvious joke it was. Then again, maybe he did, or maybe the story isn't true.

I remember reading a piece of gossip in some rag many years ago that claimed that Robin Williams once approached Rod Taylor at some public event and, noting the resemblance between himself and Taylor, introduced himself as Taylor's
illegitimate son. Taylor reportedly was unamused. Anyone know if this really happened?
I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!
Hewwo.
