okwhoever the person was saying that her husband is abusive, you are so very wrong! Bryan Brown is a lovely guy! As for his career, in terms of hollywood neither of them have done very well! Bryan is just a decent, aussie guy! he adores Rachel! in every interview i have ever seen, there is a lovely interaction between them. if he was abusive toward her in any way i think it would show. she would be uncomfortable around him and not as easy going. besides, i get the feeling she is quite a strong woman and would in no way allow herself to stay married for over 20 years to a man who abused herespecially since they have 3 children! I certainly hope noone took what was said for truth because it was slanderous and hurtful and i was completely offended on their behalf.
As for her not being attractive, i think she's lovely! she may not be drop dead gorgeous by most people standards but i think she is quite appealing. susan sarandon is one of the most attractive women i feel and she is over 50. goldie hawn another excellent example as is jane seymour. (which goes against the other persons comments that english women dont age well. Jane is beautiful!) Rachel falls into the same category as these women in my opinion. in the end, its her acting that i like her forlooks should not matter.

I, too, just checked the Getty Images site and 1c84must say I thought she still looked striking and statuesque. True, she is not the fresh young star she used to be but the way some have been describing her on the site I was thinking she must look horrid. I thought she looked stunning in gowns at the charity event that she organizes each year and even at several events wtih her daughter, Rosie. Perhaps she is more into helping the world than she is into cosmetic surgery? She looks happy and glowing in all of the pictures I saw of her with her children. Maybe that's why I think she still looks beautiful.

I still think she is beautiful! I saw her in Blackbeard and although she was obviously older than she was in The Thorn Birds, she was still stunning, even while playing a sleezy bar maid! I read an interview with Richard Chamberlain who stated that they were able to briefly spend time together in Thailand at the airport when she was leaving and he was arriving. He said that she was as staggeringly beautiful as ever and just as nice as ever. I will forever be a fan of her5b4s, especially as Meggie Cleary.

She doesn't look that bad, but smoking does age people rather quickly when they get to be in their 40's!

Well, this comes to no surprise. I happen to think that she still looks beaitiful. Period.

Maybe she is ill with some disease and its none of our damn business. Its nice that she is still married to her husband of 23 years and has a beautiful family. We can't talk about the nice things, we can only focus that she looks aged and wrinkled. Maybe she does look aged. I think its due do the fact that she is too thin, but if all those Hollywood starlets would not do so much plastic surgery and age like normal people then we would not be in so much shock to see older people with wrinkles. That is what happens when you get older. It builds character and each wrinkle is like a badge of honor. Instead of valuing the wisdom that comes with age, we place too much importance on looking young forever. so sad.

Good to hear from someone who has been with her recntly- I agree with you- We all have days when we are not "fabulous"- Its a bummer that celebrities have to see their bad day pics all over the place-

Had to add my two cents here - I just (August 05) had the pleasure of working with Rachell on a film in Thailand. In all honesty, she was totally charming, friendly, funny, smart and very beautiful. Sure, she isn't 30 anymore, but she carries herself extremely well, has a fantastic laugh and a vivacity that you don't find in a lot of actresses anymore. Everyone is allowed to have a few bad pictures once in a while.

Right now she looks5b4 like an old hag. To me, her last great go around, in regards to her looks, was in the movie "Double Jeopardy."
