I completely agree with the OP!
I really like and admire her, and she has always been one of my most favorites. Last night I saw "September" for the first time, and she was absolutely awesome -and very pretty- in it.

No, I don't think that's stupid, because current gossip is just speculation and most of the time meaningless: a year later, it may be completely forgotten. But knowing about older directors/actors personal life can explain a lot about their career choices, style choicesit takes a place in the big picture.

That probably won't happen . rumor was back in the late 80s Dianne and Woody had a little affair when things when stagnant with Mia and Woody. You can pick up on a little bit of it in the book Woody Allen On Location, a day to day diary of making Radio Days. One of Mia's children actually says to the author something about how Mia doesn't like Dianne and Woody's flirting and spending so much time together. Woody is also said to never spend any time with actresses, except it is noted in the book he spends plenty of time talking with Dianne. The film that follows, September, is about a writer who is in a stagnating relationship with Mia's character but has fallen in love with Dianne's character and the following guilt involved and how it can't work out for anyone. 2+2=?
Thereafter, Mia got pregnant with Woody's child (despite not living together) and Woody chose to keep the relationship with Mia going. Dianne, however, was not to be seen in another Woody film until Bullets Over Broadway in 93/94, the first film cast after Woody and Mia (very publicly) split. And Woody was in a new relationship with Soon Yi, which worked very well, so .

Kathy Bates was recently given a role in Woody's new Paris film. Wiest and Bates are basically the same age That could have been offered to Wiest!
