After speaking with my lawyer I have concluded that I simply cant afford to file the full utility patent. That would take upwards of $25K that i simply don't have. However i still have a path forwards. I can seek licensees who will, themselves file a utility patent with a smaller percentage of royalties going to me. I may not end up a billionaire but I will still be able to retire comfortably.
I also got updated numbers. It was hard to get accurate numbers from the AI. It kept on getting confused. The full version will run $345M. I have also developed a mineral only version that will only cost about $40M.
The new revised version will harvest water, potassium, strontium, lithium & salt. Each harvest will be small but the turn around per harvest will be rapid. The life expectancy of the facility will be 100+ years. Its low recurring cost, passive design, and modular durability destroy conventional models in long-term ROI and cost-per-output.
All I need now is licensees.

. Localized Hyper-Salinity Kills Marine Life
Desalination brine is typically 1.5 to 2 times saltier than seawater. When dumped back in concentrated form, it doesn’t immediately disperse. Instead, it sinks due to its higher density, forming a salty plume on the seafloor.
Impact: This plume smothers benthic (bottom-dwelling) organisms, disrupts reproduction and feeding cycles, and can lead to long-term ecological dead zones.
Example: In the Arabian Gulf, one of the most desalinated regions in the world, this brine buildup has measurably reduced biodiversity near outflows.

Thermal and Chemical Pollution
Desal plants don’t just discharge salt—they often release warm brine that contains anti-scalants, chlorine, heavy metals (from corrosion), and cleaning agents.
Impact: The combination of heat and toxins exacerbates environmental stress, especially in coral reefs, seagrass beds, and estuaries already under pressure from climate change and coastal development.

Ocean Is Not a Homogenized System
The ocean is not a giant, uniform mixing bowl. Currents, stratification, and geography affect how well substances disperse.
In enclosed or semi-enclosed basins (e.g. Red Sea, Persian Gulf, Mediterranean), mixing is limited, and the effects of brine dumping accumulate.
Even in open coastlines, multiple desal plants operating near each other can cause cumulative damage.

Sustainable Systems Seek to Eliminate Waste, Not Relocate It
Modern, sustainable desalination and mineral recovery systems (like E3M) aim to eliminate or repurpose the salt, turning it into valuable minerals or inert storage. This isn’t just for environmental reasons—it’s economically smarter and more sustainable long-term.
Conclusion
Yes, traditional desal plants have dumped brine into the ocean, but this is increasingly seen as an outdated and harmful practice. Regulatory bodies and environmental groups worldwide are now pushing for zero-liquid discharge (ZLD) and brine valorization as the standard.
So, “just dumping it back” is not a viable or responsible long-term solution.

That's the neat part. You absolutely can. Normal desal plants dump a concentrated brine back all the time. If he did the minimal amount of research before claiming to be a genius he'd already know that.

While it is true that younger investors are usually after fast money, older investors have often already made their fortunes and are looking for investments they can pass on. This is something that can pay off steadily and for generations. That is very attractive to that segment of investors.

Turns out that increased cost is not necessarily a bad thing. By using specific additives and a precise mix I extend the life expectancy of my facilities core concrete components from 100+yrs to 1000+yrs. That added $86M to overall cost.
I also discovered the existence of sand batteries tonight. Adding sand batteries to my system also increases cost but also allows 24/7 operation and increased income.
The full system now cost $496.97M but also has a net annual revenue of $30.30M a break even of 16.4yrs an annual ROI OF 6.1% and a lifetime ROI of 6096%!!!
