Good news Chiba fans, after years of hideously bad DVDs Sonny is finally getting some respect with a whole gaggle of releases of some truly classic films.
The new label Adness will be releasing:
Shogun's Samurai
Timeslip
Karate Bull Fighter
Karate Bear Fighter
Karate For Life
All films will be widescreen and (thank the gods!) in Japanese with english subs!. I really recommend Timeslip as it is an absolute classic.
Also there are plans to release decent versions of the Streetfighter films, as well as a DVD of Makai Tensho. About. Frickin. Time.

"The Bodyguard" and "Sister Street Fighter" just came out on a cool DVD doublebill with nice widescreen presentations. Ditto "Karate Warriors" and "Dragon Princess;" that's another bang-up DVD doublebill.

Ronin Entertainment recently issued the following trio of Sonny Chiba movies in a three film box set:
"Virus" (full length two and a half hour version)
"Golgo 13: Kowloon Assignment" (both dubbed and original Japanese with subtitles)
"Bullet Train" (two hour English dubbed version)
All three are offered widescreen with crisp digitally remastered prints. The Sonny Chiba Action Pack retails at Best Buy for only 18 bucks.

any uk chiba fans, virgin have some chiba classics. picked up street fighter, yakuza deka and yakuza deka 2:the assasin as part of 6 for £30 deal. absolute bargain. had them before, but poor quality dvds, these are much better and widescreen

Timeslip aka G.I Samurai (unfortunately) aka Sengoku jieitai (Japanese title) will be available from amongst other places Amazon with the fully intact (or at least very close to) full length of the Japanese original cinema edit of 139 minutes (previous versions were cut a lot).
Also, I found out that this film has been remade and is being released in Japan (I'm guessing the cinemas) on the 11th of June I think
