I too agree with you that he is just not funny. He's what, in his upper 40's. His movies seem to be targeted for the 12-14 year old audience.

The only movie I saw of his was Elf and I watched it because a friend told me he was hilarious. Nothing funny about him in that movie and I've avoided any other movie he's in.

There's only a handful of things which he did on SNL which I found hilariou5b4s - and the rest were complete duds to me.
I have NEVER found anything he's done in the movies to be funny.
But with that said, I gotta say that his one man HBO show playing Bush was awesome. He displayed some real talent with that. I was surprised. If there's one thing of his I would recommend it would be that.

To be funny it has to seem like it's real. He's a buffoon. Funny on stage for maybe 5 minutes at most.

Agreed. The only time I thought he's being reasonably funny was in Talladega Nights, but that could be mainly of Adam McKay's contributions. Actually probably that being the case of most of his other popular movies (which I didn't find really funny but anyway).
He seems to resonate with the late 20's to mid 30's male audience who needed their own comedic genius as they grow up though. None of them that I know with that category seems to have a good sense of humor, a dead generation of humor I suppose.

He's not funny. Even when other (talented) people provide him with a script he can sometimes fail to be funny. I don't really see the point of this guy.

I don't think he's funny. He tries way too hard. Basically his schtick is say something stupid. If that doesn't work, just yell and scream and repeat. That is all there is to will Farrell folks!

what makes me upset is that people are somehow buying into this notion that will ferrel is really funny. that's actually funny in itself.

Wow im so glad im not alone here. this guy is paintfully unfunny. and most of today ive had to deal with his stupid mug on the side of my screen cuz of a sequel to another stupid movie he made anchorman. just what we need, more stupid because people say hes "HILRIOUS". uh huh. im crying, not with laughter, but the death of comedy.
