It says that she went to a bilingual school, so has been speaking English since childhood. I believe that it's phony. And so annoying.
I guess it's like looking at clouds. You see one thing and I see another. Peace. -

She's lived in the U.S. way too long to have as thick of an accent as she does. I was watching her on Kimmel, and she geniunely sounded like it was her first day in America. Her accent is fake as f
ck.

I don't recall which one, but on a talk show she said her son accused her of having a thicker accent now then when she first came to America. She was laughing and joking as she was relaying the story but it seemed like she was admitting it. Yes I do believe she uses it when she wants. My husband doesn't have any discernible accent until he gets on the phone with his brother. I'd swear he just got here from Arkansas although he didn't live there they both lived with their Grandparents who were from there. Although he doesn't realize he's doing it I think Sofia does, it's easy to do.

I guess, even if learning English at a young age, she spent so much time in her young years speaking Spanish it's her natural accent, and she got known / remembered for it in her first professional years and people thought it was nice / funny so they asked to put it forward and it went on cause it added to her charisma.
