It was really awful having to read about the stuff this guy had to go through when he married his young wife.
I can understand people feeling strange about it. It's definitely "out of the ordinary," but death threats? Calling him a pedophile? That's going way too far.
It isn't like he was caught with child pornography or was discovered to have raped a kid. Doug found someone that he cared about, and she was 16 years old at the time.
"Well, it's not like 16 year olds are mature enough to make such a big decision." Well, guess what? There are a lot of people over 18 that are nowhere near mature enough to make the same decision. I've known some 16 year olds that are way more mature than people give them credit for.
Let Doug's career go on, people. He didn't deserve all of the hate that he got. -

I agree 100% with your post! It's terrible all the grief that Doug gets for marrying this young lady. Doug has not been charged with any crimes, his marriage is legal, yet people still like to call him a "pedophile", never mind, that his wife is now 22, & that they are still married & recently renewed their wedding vows! I hope Doug can continue with his career. He is a great actor, & seems like a good guy who doesn't deserve all the hate!

Agreed. The mere fact that he would be attracted to someone so young, then continue to date her after he discovered her actual age, definitely says something about him, and that something isn't very good.
He may not be a pedophile by the textbook definition, but he's just a step above it.
