It is too bad if it did. He is a good actor. If they continue to stay together, I think it will start to blow over (it has already somewhat), and maybe we will see him acting again. People will eventually have to get over it.

Why do people "eventually have to get over it"? No they dont. What he did is quite sickening. Someone said in another thread that it doesnt matter anymore because now she is 19 already. That's like the stupidest thing to say. So molesting a child becomes OK after the molested turns 18?
OK, I'm not saying this was necessary a case of molestation, but it's creepy as hell for sure. If she, at 16, would have dated a 20 year old I bet nobody would have had a problem. But the dude is old, he should know better. I'm not surprised at all his career went downt he toilet. People dont want to hire someone like him. If someone does I bet it's next to nothing for what he used to make. -

If you seriously have this many issues over some one you do not know and does not affect your life what so ever, you have problems. She is hardly a child and it is hardly molestation. I am not saying I think it is ok, but damn, get over yourself already. People will get over it, because it is unimportant. And if people obsess about it years later, then they have some issues.

Pennylane, I agree with you! It's interesting that Kimbe wants to make issue of this. Has she mentioned anything about Elvis dating a 14 year old Priscilla, or John Derek living in Europe with Bo Derek when she was 16? I don't understand why Doug gets singled out from Hollywood or holier than thou people like Kimbe, when Doug legally is married to this young woman, there was NO "child molestation" here! Only time will tell, if Doug & Courtney remain married for many years, but I wish people would just stop crucifying Doug over this, since he is not the first guy(especially in Hollywood) to fall for a young woman.

Woman? She was hardly a woman at 16. And how old was this "woman" when he first met her?
And this thread is about Hutchison. Not Elvis, or Derek.
I don't find it interesting that Kimbe wants to make an issue of this when "this" is exactly what this thread is about. Questioning whether or not his decision has affected his career.
And honestly, you don't know that there was no child molestation here or not. How long did he know the girl before he married her? And, did he have any sexually physical contact with her prior to marriage? If so, she was underage. And not all parents are smart. Many pimp out their kids for their own advantage. -

I'm not making a huge issue about this. I just think it's super creepy and I dont think people in hollywood will forget. Whether it's right or wrong that people wont forget is meaningless in this debate. I was stating my opinion in whether people forget or not. And I also said it's not molestation, but it's god dman close when you marry a 16 year old child. 16 year old girl is way to naive to make big decision like that. It is taking advantage of a young naive girl, that I think is hard to argue against.
Has who mentioned anything about Elvis Presley's love life? Me? I havent, not here at least. you know why? Because it's Doug Hutchinson forum. god cmon dude. -

Yeah you are.. 16 is not a child, and is the age of consent in many states, including Nevada where they got married. And like you said, is not molestation, not in any way shape or form.. So yes, you are making a big deal about.

People in Hollywood forget all of the time. Charlie Sheen went nuts and was fired from Two and a Half Men. He's now on another show.
I'm not defending Hutchison, but to say people won't forget is not true.

and Jerry Lewis marrying his 13 year old cousin (legally with parental consent)
it's really only in the last couple of decades that it's magically become taboo to date/marry a teen, it was common practice for a few thousand years (and still is in some countries) -

I can only hope that some of you pervs have a daughter someday. I couldn't imagine having a 16 old daughter who is being hit on by 50 year old, i would beat the hell out of him. Even if this girls white trash mother said its ok it doesn't make it ok. If the public doesn't want to see pedophiles/ creepy old men that's fine with me.

I believe people would care if Brad Pitt would start dating a 16 years girl. It doesnt matter who it is, a dude in his 50's dating and marrying a 16 year old is creepy. Hard to argue against that I think. I dont know how people dont see this as creepy. And please dont start rambling about love and beep
