Age doesn't matter, but maturity levels do.

I'm almost 25, and am seeing a 52-year-old man. I wonder what you people think about this.
They're married, they obviously don't give a **** about society's disapproval. Let them be!

a. not legal age and doesn't seem old enough to really have the maturity level comparable to a 51 yr old
b. seems really trashy and vapid
watching interviews is like watching a disgusting train wreck of sleaziness

It's not the age difference. If she was in her 20s and wanted to marry a guy in his 60s, oh well. I don't care if they met when she was 16, my issue with it is the fact that not only did she get married at that age, but they got married very quickly; They met in January of 2011 (she was 16), and then married later that year. She never got any older; neither of them gave this relationship the time to really work out. I would be this skeptical about a marriage that happened within a year between a 20 year old and a 60 year old as well as a married within a year between a 30 year old and a 31 year old. People need time to grow and mature in their relationship before getting married.

I just turned 24, and even though I've been an adult for a few years technically, I'd say I'm still maturing constantly, and I don't think I'd consider myself totally of an "adult mind" until I'm around 30, just because the 20's seem to be very dramatic and turbulent.
Plus, it's obvious from Courtney's behavior that she's just not mature. She certainly acts like someone who is much younger than she actually is. She has absolutely no understanding of how the world works.
This whole situation is just messed up, and I really don't understand how anyone could even try to defend Doug or Courtney.
And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point? -

Well as a 47 year old still looking for the right woman I have to say I prefer younger women. Not this crazy mess these two got into. 51 and 16 is too far a gap in age to marry or even date in my opinion. I work 3rd shift and have for 22 years and it is very hard to find any young women or older ones for that matter but I simply like younger women. My particular preference is a younger woman around 28 to 35. I have met some really mature 25 year old women but I think it is a little too soon considering the last lemmings of immaturity or turbulent 20's is over and real maturity sets in with clear thinking and goals. But if I were to make a comment to my coworkers they would simply say that is still too young without even considering maturity level at all. All they think is that "your almost fifty". I just don't care or worry about it anymore because it's about maturity and the attraction to maturity and respect for each other and who they ab68re and wanting to make each other happy. I wouldn't even think about touching a teenager this young or even probably 20 or 21 because most girls that age are simply for the most part are too immature and kind of flighty about a lot of things. Life is just getting started and they are establishing themselves and what they want out of life. Anyway I am not by no means trying to support this particular relationship or one like it of any kind because I simply believe she is about 10 years too young for him. Well that's my two cents on it. Good luck to any guy out there though who is reasonably older say 15 to 20 yrs old and who meets a younger mature and focused woman with goals. If the maturity and the respect is there then their is simply no reason to down a relationship over a reasonable age difference. Have a nice day everyone.

If i was in my 40s,i would want to be with somebody 35 or older(there are plenty of beautiful women in that age range. Even when i am 30 i will never go after a 20 or 21 year old,i the youngest i would date would be 26 or 27.
