          Although I thought Streep was stunning in "Sophie's Choice" I must say that I am in agreement with your assessment of Sandy Dennis and "Jimmy Dean." I think Dennis gave great performances in several films that were overlooked, including "Up the Down Staircase" and "Sweet November."

                I love your list of best actresses for 1982. And I would put Ms Dennis on top as well. I AM DYING for this to come to DVD, I have an old, very worn out VHS tape and have been anxiously awaiting this film on DVD for YEARS!!!! Just had to say it's great to see another fan of the film.
