I always thought he was Italian-American.

I am a straight guy; and I find Kirk attractive, and I bet that he is proud of both his Puerto Rican and Chinese heritage and blood. I care what he is, and celebrate that he has DNA from these two special peoples. Some of the world's most beautiful people are of mixed blood from China and Latin America. James Albert Michener in his novel "Hawaii" talked about the upcoming "Golden People", the people of mixed race and heritage. Hawaii is a good example of a "melting pot", many are of part Chinese descent. American Indian natives are said to have Mongoloid blood (Asian).
There are four distinct groups of humanity. Cacasoid, Negroid, Mongoliod and Australoid. As time advances, more and more of us are in fact of mixed heritage and blood; and we can all be proud of this. maybe one day we will all be of a "Golden Race", a blend of our roots. There are few in America that are of a "pure blood" most of us are mixed, whether we admit it or not. It ticks me off when a person claims one race is better than another, we are all human beings.
Kirk is a very good actor, and I like his mixed heritage, and good looks, he exhibits a lot of heart.

Thank you, Riverlynx, for your intelligent comment. The "Golden People" (tri-racial) are the most beautiful on Earth. My late husband was Afro-American, Mohawk, and Canadian of German and Norwegian descent. On a scale of 1-10, he was a 12. He had skin like the proverbial baby's butt, and facial features encompassing the best of all three races. As a rock bassist with a big-name band, you virtually needed a cattle prod to keep the drooling groupies off him. Many Brazilians, for the same reason, are impossibly beautiful. And check out Keanu Reeves (part Chinese/Polynesian) and Johnny Depp (part Cherokee). Kirk Acevedo not only has the benefit of a Chinese mother and a Puerto Rican father, but a strong resemblance to Humphrey Bogart, who was not handsome but had an undefinable qualit2000y of manliness to go along with all that talent.

Hello, pattyjones you are most welcome; thanks for sharing memories of your special "Golden Man" and for your interesting comments; I am without the words to express the sorrow that I feel for your loss, I bid him to rest-in-peace. Thankfully you have many wonderful memories of him and your special time together.
Getting back to Kirk: The first role that I recall him playing was Miguel Alvarez in OZ; I saw Bogart in him right away, there is a deep harmonic, in my view. I really enjoy seeing him in other roles; such as a Federal Agent, FBI, a good follow to the dark OZ.
I am glad to know that we share a view, a perspective, in regards to the "Golden People", I agree with your examples and a list of other celebrities of their blend would be fun to assemble from memory and the
              Ggle
              .
I lost my "Golden One(s)" too; I recall so much, (so little), I dream, I remember, I miss
              Now, I have Rio,
              (Now is fleeting)

              Warm regards.

Are you suggesting that I may be the Dove?
I am more of a Raven, don't you think?

Hi, riverlynx (and Rio). Curiosity compels me to ask if Rio is as Brazilian as his name. I lived with a Brasileiro years before I met my Anthony, and his friends were a collection of amazing variety and beauty.

LOL, Rio is my APBT (Pit Bull) ADA Assistance Animal (Hearing-Ear Service Dog), We are together 24/7. She loves to kaya238k with me, and goes everywhere that I go; she even stayed with me in the hospital for a week, after a collision with a Steller Sea Lion on the Columbia River, (I needed a few repairs). The staff loved her and made up a bed for her next to mine, but she was up on the hospital bed with me much of the time. She is amazing an actual life-saver, and very close true friend.

I'm LOL myself. I'm a pitbull fan in a big way and a supporter of Tia Torres and the Villalobos Rescue Center. I'd have a "pibble" if I didn't have arthritic hands. I dog-sat one for three weeks a few years ago, and he dislocated one of my fingers by simply pulling (I think most full-grown pibbles could pull a bus). For that 3 weeks, though, he slept on top of me for as long as I could stand the 90-pound weight. There is no sweeter or more loyal dog than a pit.
Incidentally, thanks for your sympathy regarding my Anthony. He went out like the hero he was in his soul, trying to save a stranger's life. He was working for the Cirque du Soleil when an audience member passed out in the aisle and couldn't be roused. While waiting for an ambulance, the man stopped breathing and Anthony gave him CPR until the emergency crew arrived. I later learned that the man had died in the ambulance, but no one thought to contact Anthony and tell him that he had been exposed to Meningitis. He dropped into a coma two days later and was brain-dead by the next day. We pulled the plugs the following week, once we could find an appropriate minister to see him off. He was 46 years old, but looked maybe 30.
P.S. re Kirk: I think Oz, dark as it was, may have been the greatest work of art ever presented on a TV screen. Aside from Miguel (my favorite character), there has never been, IMO, such a collection of brilliant performances in one show, and the frightening realism of the series was more than I would ever have given TV producers credit for. Bravo to all involved.

First, in a general response to this th5b4read. People from Spain of 100% Castilian heritage (or Catalunyan, Galician, Euskadi, etc) are Caucasian. White. You can call them Hispanic or Latino, but the terms are not mutually exclusive. Hispanic properly refers to the languageSpanish, not racial identity. Latino, although incorrectly used interchangeably, refers to all people from Latin America, including Brazilians who speak Portuguese and Guyanese who speak English
There is no term that truly captures the multi-ethnic melting pot that comprises much of the Latin American population. Most are mestizo mixed heritage including Native American (Mayan, Arawak, et al) and African-American.
There's only one way to determine which ethnicity predominates in Kirk's genes. And that's in his jeans 🙂
