I thought Kirk was mega-hot for years before I even knew his name. The way he looks is a perfect example of how we get the finest-looking people by mixing races (his mother is Chinese, his father Puerto Rican) A real "Nuyoriqueo" and sexy by definition. The great face and tight body aside, He always seemed to play those edgy-but-sympathetic roles in various series, and he always played them with such passion!
Then I saw Oz. What more do I need to say; it took my impression of this truly gifted actor over the edge, urging me to look up the name of that face. Kirk was the hottest man on Oz (giving Chris Meloni a close second), plus poor "Miguel" had all those psychological issues to deal with and could never stay out of trouble, hard as he tried. I love that Kirk was not too proud to show himself at [Miguel's] weakest and most fearful looked like superb Method acting to me. That show was, IMO, the best work that's ever been on TV, and Kirk got first billing.
Anyway, I just looked at his page and see that a lot of his TV work I missed (I almost never watch network TV) is available here two whole series' worth and more so I'll get some chips, make guacamole, fry up a couple of chuletas and some platanos, and settle down to an Acevedo Day sometime soon.
And girl, you're so right. The classic term "Latin Lover" didn't spring from nowhere.
