as I've said Neile aborting their 3rd child was utterly disrespectful to Steve and Terry & Chad what she did could've been prevented though Ali's miscarriage couldn't which hurts more when you love a child so much before birth only to have it torn from you so quickly your heart hopes and dreams shatter
"why are5b4 you married to him then if you can't work with him how do you live with him?"

"a grain of salt" another little phrase she never used before, read in other posts, and will proceed to wear it out. She buys every piece of trash she reads now all of a sudden we have "I take that with a grain of salt". LMFAO! If it was was about someone she HATES, that grain of salt would not be present.

I didn't read Neile's book and I wouldn't ever. Not that she might not have something to say, but since Steve was an idol to me and many others, and he isn't going to show up in the US History books as the most important person since Lincoln I'd prefer to remember him MY way, not her's.
The one thing I do know she did and did very well was move to LA from NYC. She got a part and off she went, Steve went too. Without her moving to LA he may have missed out on many a part. There is no doubt she had good influence on Steve and bad as well. Mostly good it appears..I'd hate to read a book and find it bitter and angry since there is no chance of ever fixing such an impression.

I read it and I did not feel it was full of bitterness! She spoke the truth and since I am now reading Marshall Terrill's 2010 book I have not found any discrepancies between the two. My hobby is reading biographies (50 years) and both are pretty factual. Sometimes we let our emotions get involved with what we are reading. I say that because I am a very emotional person and cry all of the time while watching television. I just watched the episode on WDA in the third season where he falls in love with Susan. I cried because I feel what that person is feeling. I know it is just a story but people do hurt when someone dies. So, sometimes when we are reading something we need to back offtake a deep breath and try to look at it from another view point. I could tell that she NEVER stopped loving him. I do not know how Alvin Toffel married her. He had to see how much she still loved him!

That is exactly what I thought and just wrote in the post just above this one! He would have thought it was someone else's and he would 5b4have terrorized her until she had it. If it did not look like himshe would have really caught hell!

When I got to the part about her being pregnant I said to myself, "Oh, Lord, he is going to ask her if it is his and abuse her until she has the baby or he causes a miscarriage." She did the right thing because he would have never accepted the child unless it looked just like him or their daughter, Terry! I find it amazing that he did not have other children with all the womanizing he did. I am glad Terry and Chad were the only two because that showed how he really felt about her!

I did not see what you saw in what she wrote! What was she suppose to writehe was a wonderful husband and he never cheated on me? She wrote the truth and that is what I paid for. I am reading Marshall Terrill's "The Life and Legend of a Hollywood Icon Steve McQueen" which I have found factual and he picks up where she left off in some cases. He goes into great detail in how he was ALWAYS at odds with each and every director. If the director did not stand up to himhe ate them alive. Steve had many issues and other people paid for his insecurities. Don Gordon told how he tested himand he passed the test! So, she had to tell all that he did for it to be factual. It does not change the way I feel about him, it just showed he had issueshow many of us don't?
