If you're going to say you like the guy, at least give examples that were his idea. High Tension was a rip off of Intensity and THHE was a remake. This guy blows nuts.

Roth takes this with bells on!!!
(And switchblade romance was great until it blew chunks for the ending)

Well Neither. Roth has cooler friends though. But Hills Have Eyes BLOWS so, so bad. As does Cabin Fever, High Tension, and Hostel. As those make up the list of headline films for these dudes, I'd say that both their track records in the direction category are sh!t.

Eli Roth beats the beep out of Aja and then beep on him. It would be a closer fight but Aja did Mirrors and that movie sucked hairy beep The Hills Have Eyes is good but isnt better than Cabin Fever and does not even come close to Hostel.

The Hills Have Eyes was awesome. It's one of those very rare films where I think I liked the remake a tad more than the original.
High Tension is one of the greatest horror flicks I've ever seen.
As for Eli Roth, I think he's a decent director in his own right. His films don't seem to take themselves anywhere near as seriously, but that's the other side of horror films. You've got the serious ones, and then you've got the ones that are supposed to be a bit campy. Personally, I enjoyed Cabin Fever quite a bit. I view it as somewhat a satirical take on the genre, while at the same time, it was very entertaining. I think there's too much hate for Cabin Fever and Hostel on here. Hostel was one of the most original horror films I've seen. So it wasn't scary. It was still creepy as hell, and contained probably as much gore as an R-rating will allow. I have a special place in my heart for Hostel. Perhaps European horror films are more graphic and disturbing, but Hostel to me, is about as good as an American effort gets.
All that said, perhaps I've give the slight nudge to Aja, and that's only because at the moment I'm more interested in serious horror films.

Aja movies are ab68 little better. Eli Roth was even in AA movie Piranha [2010]
Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

I like them both. For me, I can watch Roths movies over and over again. With Ajas Movies not so much, but I still like em.

Aja is much better, but Leigh Whannell beats them both when it comes to filmmaking.

I reckon Aja is better for proper scare factor and horror, Roth, to me is more about homages to other horror films, almost like the Tarantino of horror in a way, at least that's my take on them.
