Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Claude Akins

I could have sworn that Claude Akins was the original voice for the commercials for beef - "What's for dinner"? before Sam Elliott. I can just hear his voice. But I cannot find it on IMDB or other places. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks.

The original voice for the beef commercials was Robert Mitchum, the most unmistakable voice in westerns. He did the commercials right up until his death, and while Sam Elliott is no slouch, it's just not the same.

And commercials aren't listed on IMDB. Only TV shows and movies.

Yes, they are listed under "Other works". That's how I find out whether somebody is in a certain commercial.
