I fell in love with him all over again watching the "Sam Hill" episode of "Bonanza."
His presence, his ability to be hero or cad, and his deep voice always stirred amazement in me. Mr. Akins was prolific, talented and someone you'd love to have beer with, even if you didn't drink beer.
I miss him greatly, and feel sadness for his wife and children. I hope they have wonderful memories of his as father and husband. I certainly have wonderful memories of him as actor.

I really like that episode of Bonanza, maybe it's his ability to portray this enigmatic character. Claude was indeed one of Hollywood's most generous actors ever.

He is a staple voice and actor from my childhood. All 3 generations loved him! It's great now to see him in his older work, like Twilight Zone. He lived life well and we can all learn from that.
