I've met him twice at two different conventions, and he's a sweetheart. He's very good to his fans, he'll put his arm around you, give you the fist bump, a firm handshake, joke with you, etc. I met him for the second time at the Hollywood Show in Chicago. After getting his autograph and a picture with him, I saw him twice after that. We happened to walk past each other and not only did he say hello both times, but he also remembered my name. As luck would have it, I shared the same shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel with his manager, we talked about what a nice guy he is.

I just met and interviewed Mr. John Amos at the Long Island International Film Expo where he was receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.( well deserved). He came across as a sweetheart of a man. Very grateful for the career he had had thus far and giving back with charity work helping teach disadvantaged children how to sail. Speaking with everyone there and not turning away anyone that wanted a photograph.
