Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Tom Atkins

I saw him in Halloween 3.
He was good as the hero. It's ashame he didnt become a star. If he was a pretty boy (Brad Pitt/ Tom Cruise )it could of been benefital to his career.
    Show business sucks.

I couldn't agree any more with you.
Tom is an amazing actor, I mean he's played some pretty good roles (some of my favorites are Escape From New York, and The Fog) The thing I love most about him is how in The Fog he must of been in his mid 40's, and he ends up sleeping with Jamie Lee Curtis lol.
      100% against The Fog remake.

Very true about him being underated. He had a real everyman quality to him. There was a certain tough guy no nonsense approach to this acting that worked very well when he was in a horror flick.
He may not have become a star, but he has had a lot of good roles over the years and made a living doing something he was good at. That's not bad at all.

I agree, Tom Aktins was great as (Dr.) Daniel Challis in Halloween 3. His acting was great. He is what you call a hero in Halloween 3. He pretty much saved the world in that movie

No, he did not save the world in H3. Did you not see the end of the movie?

I likewise concur. Atkins is an excellent actor who deserves more praise and recognition for his consistently fine work throughout the years. He was terrific in "Halloween III." He was likewise wonderful in "Night of the Creeps." In addition, I was impressed by his supporting performance in "Lethal Weapon." To prove I'm a true fan of Mr. Atkins, I wrote his IMDb mini-bio, plus added several stage credits for him under other work.

This guy is everywhere! I cant count how many of his movies I watched but I think he reminds me most of Halloween 3.
I think he deserves more attention.

I agree, he should be far more famous than he is. I am seeing him & Adrienne Barbeau tonight (11-04-2011) at the Warhol Museum for a showing of Escape from New York. I was floored to find out he lives in Peters Township, an affluent town south of Pittsburgh, PA.
