I was just thinking aoubt it the other day. Without Bobbys character on the show the Winchester boys would be lost. And it should be said, Jim Beaver is an amazing actor.

I agree! It's gotten to the point where I'd rather have whiny Sam disappear (no offense to Sam fans)than Bobby die.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
I was reading upcoming spoilers and it was mentioning Bobby selling his soul. Of course, since it's in an upcoming episode, you can't be sure of anything. -

He's on Justified now, he's running for the sheriff's job.

Can I ask how he gets involved in the show more?
I watched the first two seasons of Supernatural and know he had a guest starring role as another hunter, friend of their father. But I still haven't watched passed season 2 (been planning to for so long, but I've been busy with other shows. But I'll start season 3 soon) and I'm wondering how he gets to be such a big character, since the Winchester boys seem to be continously on the road.
I absolutely love Jim Beaver's other work, great actor! -

He becomes more prominent when Dean uses Bobby's demon dungeon to stop Sam drinking blood in the 4th series. The life on the road aspect pretty much dies out after the 4th series because they also team up with Castiel the angel who flies them to places really fast.
