Jim's cameo in one of the Hobbit movies

As I understand it, Jim's supposed to have a small (perhaps uncredited) role in one of the upcoming Hobbit movies).
I wonder if it will be in movie 2 or 3? And will fans be able to spot him?
My guess, he'll be playing a gruff old Dwarf.
Anyone know any details?
