Here's an interesting social study that was done a few years ago that may interest you. To paraphrase and shorten the results and conclusions, people within one general ethnic/racial/cultural group are perceived to "all look alike" to others in a different group if the beholders do not have close contact on a regular basis with those in the group being judged.
As an example separate from the research, one of the study's authors, a 6'4" tall American with a ruddy complexion and bright red hair, tells this anecdote. He traveled through rural China in 2007. Almost everywhere he went, a large pecentage of the locals that he encountered mistook him for President George W. Bush! They actually greeted him as, "Mr. President."
That being said, from the very first time I saw him on an episode of "The Game," I immediately got the vibe that Coby's character was based on real-life NFL player Jason Taylor. I was likely influenced by the info that his character plays a similar position to Taylor's. But it's my opinion that he bears some resemblance (his physique, height, shaved head, caramel colored skin) to the professional football player and ballroom dancer.
And me? I'm a 6'2" American with a ghostly pale complexion and bright red hair (and although we may look alike to some people, I am not the scientist). -

Who did they get to participate in that study? I am black and all whites don't look alike to me. I have heard about that study but have never actually read it. Do you have a link to it or know where I can find it.

this is my main gripe with some of the STUPID people on this site. always trying to say so & so "LOOKS LIKE" someone. STOP IT, these two men LOOK NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING alike.
