She is in the 1950 Joel McCrea movie Stars in My Crown on TCM on 5-15-14 at 12:45 P.M. EST. She plays the young school teacher. Her future co-star in Gunsmoke (James Arness) is in it and plays Roffe Isbelle.

As shown in IMDB, she had a pretty busy career after Gunsmoke. I do recall that she had a large part in an epis2000ode of "The Quest" so it looks like she was ready to try other parts. Rest in peace.
