Not forgotten, never will be. Amanda Blake left 19 years of Gunsmoke and Miss Kitty behind and many of us are very greatful for that. She and Matt Dillon will always be "the couple".

Amanda Blake, in the role of Miss Kitty, was All Woman with gutts, sensitivity, beautiful, and great facial expressions along with her superb acting.
I cried when she died and I still am so upset that we lost her at the age we did and the way she died.
I have alwa111cys thought that if anyone asked me what I thought the greatest love story ever made, I'd definitely say Gunsmoke's Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty. You didn't have to have bedroom scenes or long passionate kisses to know that they were a couple. It was great to sit on the edge of you seat to watch them embrace, or touch one another just waiting for that moment that never came but only in your imagination.
No she will never be forgotten. It is so wonderful to watch her today, as many years ago, on Gunsmoke and through this she still lives!!

Her dirt-bag husband contracted AIDS but never told her. She was great as "Kitty."

To be technically correct, she never revealed where or how she contracted AIDS. True her 5th husband did die of the disease and so we can logically conclude that's where she got it, but she was no saint, and as Matt Dillon says in the episode Kitty's OutlawKitty knows a lot of men Chester, and she spent a great deal of time in the area of Africa that today is over 50% AIDS infested. I have no great love of Mark Spaeth, but his death was no easy thing in itself. I'd not wish that type of death on anyone in this world especially not someone I love as much as Amanda. But like I've written before, it doesn't matter how she died. What matters is that she lived and laughed and loved and was loved by others.

I watch the "Gunsmoke" re-runs, almost every day, on the Westerns Channel. Amanda Blake's beauty takes my breath away. It's funny, EVEN in black-and-white, you just KNOW that she's a
redhead! The beauty mark on her right cheek highlighted an already gorgeous face. It's too bad
but "Gunsmoke's" success (20 years!) actually worked against her. Even though she left the show the year BEFORE it was finally cancelled, she found herself "typecast," and only able to secure work in TV shows like "Hart to Hart," and "The Love Boat." I mean, she HAD a movie career BEFORE
"Gunsmoke." Even though her life was cut short, I like to think she had a GOOD one; surrounded by friends, family, loved ones and a loyal fan base. Amanda will live on, in our hearts, via the
"Gunsmoke" re-runs, FOREVER! I love 'ya, "Miss Kitty."

True that Amanda Blake portrayed Miss Kitty as beautiful, caring, sensitive, self-confident, intelligent, self-sacrificing, dependable, elegant and self-sufficient.
Neither Amanda nor Miss Kitty would be forgotten by her many fans, who esteem her dearly.

I had a "Miss Kitty" today. This bar I went to had a broiled chicken sandwich named after the Gunsmoke character. It brought back some fine memories of Amanda Blake and Miss Kitty. Such a shame she died too young.

Oh yes, Amanda Blake was quite lovely and beautiful. She carried herself with grace and poise and determination.
That is very wonderful for Amanda to co-form the Animal Welfare League with its "no kill" shelter, and wonderful that she cared for everybody.
Yes, that is tragic that we were left without Amanda at such a young age, and with all of the pain and suffering which she had to endure. Such a fine lady, who deserves to be remembered more as a great actress and beautiful individual.

She was the first true feminist portrayed on TV.
And she didn't hate men, unlike how most feminist charachters are written to be like these days.
She could sure hold her own against ALL the men in the cast, and good writing for her part helped, too.

True, Amanda Blake is well-remembered for her role as Miss Kitty, and also very appreciated as a national treasure, great beauty and outstanding actress in everything she does.
Her Miss Kitty comes across as independent, authoritative, fearless, sharp and brilliant, and also very lovely, stylish, elegant, caring and romantic.
Amanda was taken very much too soon, and although the careless may not appreciate her many contributions to television, the caring appreciate her as Longforgotten 'Miss Kitty' plus everything else she has done for the sake of goodness.
