    Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Robert Blake

    Arancini — 10 years ago(March 20, 2016 02:30 AM)

    I've been thinking of roles that I would have liked to showcase Blake's unique acting qualities.
    I'll spare you all from a long list and just give three.
    In no particular order;
    Coach Tony D'Amato in "Any Given Sunday" (1999)
    Sgt. Mike Horvath in "Saving Private Ryan" (1998) although he would've been aged 65, he had that look of a NCO bull terrier lifer in his fifties, just add a couple of stripes to what Sizemore had, and he's good to go!
    Buzz Murdock in the classic TV series "Route 66" (1960-1963)
    I liked George Maharis, but Robert Blake has more energy, is a real Jazz lover, likes fight scenes, and would've a better
    contrast to Millner's clean-cut Ivy League caricature.

        He would have definitely been better than Maharis' replacement.

          I like Glenn Corbett, but he's sort of corporate/FBI looking, not really that different than Martin Milner(???)
          Played a good cowboy too.
