I've already told you the cause and the required result. Not sure what you're asking me here.

….but we didn't charge access, in fact we had reduced a bunch of tariffs in order to participate in a gigantic free trade zone with the US and Mexico, decades ago. NAFTA, now called CUSMA.
And what did we get for it, from these dummies, in the last 2 months:- A big excuse for tariffs centred on false accusations of massive amounts of fentanyl and migrants crossing the border from Canada, when, from the US' own data, lol their own seizure data, fentanyl and migrants made up only 1% of that cross border traffic into the US. (And ignoring the cocaine and the illegal guns of course that flow north). In other words, massive tariffs based on a lie.
- public accusations of 'ripping them off' and 'cheating'….what?….and these are from the top senior officials.
- threats.
In your real life, do you treat a 'friend' that way? Would you? Wouldn't you be a labelled a psychopath if you did?

I don't have sight of any of this data, but I'm happy to concede to your point on "the lie".
My point still stands. Something has to be done about the de-industrialization of the west and the neutering of our collective defense capability. If Trump is lying it's probably because he's a troll who also cannot speak plainly about such existential risks without potentially igniting something.
If Trump doesn't tariff allies (and uninhabited islands) those lands will simply become a route into the US for yet more goods we really need to start producing ourselves.
There will be a negotiation. Allies will be given a chance to demonstrate they are on board with this reset. If they tariff China themselves, and demonstrate their intent to bring back manufacturing to their own lands, I'm sure Trump will walk back any tariffs.

I'm not denying the claim, just saying it doesn't make any difference to the grand strategy playing out.

If China is on one side, all of the west will be on the other. No amount of TDS will change that fact. Nobody wants to live on planet China.
uhuh.
China, Japan, South Korea to bolster trade ties
The three nations announced on Sunday that they have agreed to accelerate negotiations on their trilateral free trade agreement and enhance cooperation in supply chain management and export controls, according to China's Ministry of Commerce.
BEIJING – Amid tariff increases by the United States and growing economic fragmentation worldwide, China, Japan and South Korea — three manufacturing powerhouses that depend heavily on foreign trade — are likely to form closer ties to preserve Asia’s economic stability and create a buffer against unilateralism, said trade experts and business leaders on Monday.

^note: these three nations never trusted each other since WWII which has obviously changed now.
Canada, US's closest ally, declares the end of an era in USA-Canada relations, while European leaders condemn the tariffs as unjustified and dangerous.
literally the whole world is banding together to stop the US lmao

That's up to them. If they want to do what they've been doing for decades, and can't see the bigger picture, that's on them. The US will just have to say "I told you so", because ignoring the problem is geopolitical and cultural suicide.

…returning jobs to the US?
LOL
Turd Lump and Muck are creating job loses through their DOGE project even after the dumb asshole signed an EO forcing government workers to return to an office, just so they could get fired.
If you are talking about manufacturing jobs, that is going to take eons to build those factories and get them up and running.
More than four years.
Things will be even more expensive without the cheap sweatshop slave labor.
By that time Turd Lump will be gone, even though you would like him to be dicktator for life, and likely replaced by a Dem. who will have to do the right things and straighten out his mess just as Biden did.
Things were humming along nicely and then Turd Lump comes along to break what was fixed.
Under Biden what was the $1 Tree became the $1.25 Tree.
Expect it to become the $3.00 or more Tree because of Turd Face.

No, we should let free Americans freely buy products at competitive market price, not manipulated, inflated prices, because freedom.

I'm not sure what's so hard to understand about this.
The dollar's worth is linked to our standing in the world. It's the reserve currency because it's safe and stable. If we find ourselves in a war we're unable to fight because we don't have the manufacturing base required to equip, the dollar would plummet, no longer be the reserve currency, and our freedom would likely be lost.
You know how wars work, right? You don't buy your way through them, you innovate, pump out materiel, and fight.
Who won WWII? The Brits, the Russians, or us, because we made everything and lend leased it all to our allies? Who will play that role for the ball es this time against China, if China is the country manufacturing everything?

My dollar's worth is dependent on how much I can buy with it. Without free trade my dollar's purchasing power drastically decreases.

Oh **** you, you ****ing loser leftists pretending you're not selfish. You literally vote for people who promise you free **** from the government. You have an unearned sense of moral superiority, you act like you're all caring and charitable but when it comes down to it you're only charitable so long as it's someone else's money on the line.
