And I have to disagree. Jolene's T'Pol is just a wonderful character! Compare her character to any other in Enterprise:

I don't think it's unusual for them not to get jobs, three of my friends that are actors are very attractive the one that is black has a harder time because there just aren't that many roles for black female actors,
The other two are white one constantly gets work and the other decided to pursue other things.
I don't know what parts Ms. Blalock auditioned for in the past, from what I've been told by my friend who no longer acts, looking at some of the roles she herself auditioned for in the past and seeing who was actually cast, I couldn't see her in those roles.
The one that works a lot I've seen a couple of her films one she did with Halle Berry and she fit the role but the ones she's done that appear on SyFy aren't so great and I've never seen any of the "Saw" films but she was in one of those.
Actors do make up stories, but I found an interview she did on some late night talk show and it was her first, but the host asked her about doing the conventions and she replied "do you have to do those", he told her I think so, he also told her about going to conventions and with the appearance fees she would be set for life, -

With Star Trek being a franchise I couldn't see how she wouldn't know about promoting the show at conventions.
In her case I don't think she was use to doing interviews early on and the attention the series brought so she may not have had her resume and bio history down some actors eventually don't expect to get work if they aren't getting call backs so they don't get all their information straight before becoming famous almost over night.
Ms. Blalock may not have auditioned well or there were just better actors auditioning for the roles, if an actor is really good but the producers don't think they'll fit the role they sometimes will have them read for another part or remember them and cast them in as a guest star.
Some casting directors and producers also cast a certain type of looking women no matter what produce the women all look the same.
Looking at her resume she hasn't done as much work as other actors who started out at the same time. I would be interested to know what parts she auditioned for in the past and then seeing who got the roles she didn't get. that can tell you a lot as to why they didn't get a certain role.
Like that talk show host stated she's set for life on the convention appearance circuit if she wants to do them now, and she well connected through her husband and he's rich.
She's definitely not a starving actor anymore.

I hardly doubt she loves the Star Trek conventions, during the run of Enterprise, she never went, she was reluctant, she did 3 or 4 conventions but after the series ended. IMO, obviously IMO she always felt to deserve much better and doesn't like to be remembered as the pointed-ears woman, honestly to me,I wouldn't like it.

Well you can tell from that very first interview she didn't sound like she wanted to do conventions, but some actors feel that way, but over time when they need money (Which I doubt she'll have to worry about in the future.) or when they're older they'll start doing conventions.

but do you refer to Star Trek conventions or also other convent5b4ions I don't know these things and saw at ComiCon of San Diego also Angelina Jolie was in.Angelina Jolie is too much famous, she shouldn't go there.
Sorry I don't know exactly what they are, I thought only the poor SciFi actor go there. Could you explain me about? Thanks. -

I refer to any science-fiction or fantasy conventions that they have all over the world. I don't go to conventions but anyone who has a film or television series in those two genres mainly but also other genres goes to those conventions, the San Diego Comic-Con is the biggest and most famous because they use that convention to promote merchandise for franchises and upcoming television series and films.
Yes they do have conventions for just b68specific television series. Regardless of the convention the actors get paid a fee, I don't know what the fee is but I know their hotel rooms are paid for by the sponsors or studios.
I don't see where it would be a bad thing, but it may not be for some actors. To each his own.

You're welcome, looking at Ms. Blalock Rupino's twitter posts, she seems to be quite happy being a mom now.
