And it really really really pains my soul. I'm NOT gonna explain as to why I hate the beep hellraiser 5-9. They aren't canon to the story, they suck, Rick Bota go beep yourself for destroying the series.
Watching Hellraiser II on bluray, just pains me to know we will NEVER see something similar that resembles the great cast they put together on all 4 movies. You know a movie is good if the main characther utters quoteable dialogue, all 4 movies features tons of great speeches by Doug Bradley.
Speaking of DB, you can clearly see him enjoying his work to it's fullest extent on all 4 movies. Talking with him a few years ago, he shared a few great experiences from working with the cast. Hellraier II would have never worked if it wasn't for the great actors, same goes for all 4 movies.
I don't want a beep remake, I don't want a beep Rick Bota sequel. I wanted a true Hellraise111cr V sequel, get DB back, get Clive Barker, Christopher Young etc. But obviously this will never happen.
End of rant
True hellraiser fan (1-4)

I'd say Hellraiser: Inferno is significantly better than 3 and 4. I'd extend my criteria of great HR movies to HR 1-5.
I do say Niles, this graveyard is awfully mauve

Doug Bradley is returning to the role of Pinhead. Clive Barker just pitched his idea for a remake, and he wants Bradley on board, as well:

HOT FROM HELL! My friends,I have some news which may be of interest to you. A few weeks ago I had a very productive meeting with Bob Weinstein of Dimension Pictures,in the course of which I pitched a remake of the first HELLRAISER film. The idea of my coming back to the original film and telling the story with a fresh intensity-honoring the structure and the designs from the first incarnation but hopefully creating an even darker and richer film-was attractive to Dimension. Today I have officially been invited to write the script based upon that pitch. What can I tell you about it?Well, it will not be a film awash with CGI. I remain as passionate about the power of practical make-up effects as I was when I wrote and directed the first HELLRAISER. Of course the best make-up in the world loses force if not inhabited by a first-rate actor. I told the Dimension team that in my opinion there could never be a Pinhead without Doug Bradley, and much to my delight Bob Weinstein agreed. So once the papers are signed , I will open a Lemarchand Configuration, dip my quill in its contents and start writing . I promise that there will be nowhere on the Internet where the news of my progress will be more reliable than here ,because the only author of these reports will be Your Infernal Corespondent ,me. My very best wishes to you
all,my friends.

Inferno was more like a crime drama in the vein of a lousy episode of CSI or Law & Order. The cenobites barely made an appearance until the end. It's absolutely atrocious and doesn't even deserve to be called a Hellraiser film much less horror.
