How idiotic!

"What name calling? I said her statement is idiotic."
The term "idiotic" would be considered name-calling. You either agree with someone or not, but just saying something's idiotic for not agreeing with it
IS
rude.
"I am ell aware of that-I have travelled the world. I just don't care about the rest of the world's opinion of the US-it will change with the nest tsunami, hurricane volcano or genocidal dictator to come along!!!"
I wasn't aware the tsunamis made the world love US more the entire world was trying to help them.
Eh, I didn't know I'd still find people who think like this. Countries do nothing for other nations unless there's some interest behind it. I'm not even saying it's just the US, since it would be absurd. Those notions of good guys/bad guys are only meant to fool the masses into seeing everything just in black and white. USA is not a heroic nation no nation is and ever will be.
Oh sorry, I forgot. You don't care. Eh well pointless to discuss, then.
"OK, I never trashed Brazil or said that Brazil is mediocre. Get over it. I think, based on what I've seen, that Brazil and her people are quite lovely. I disagree, and rebut, the opinion of ONE Brazilian. An actress. And here in America people who pretend for a living think their opinions are more wise and informed than the common person. I'm here to tell she's wrong. I would be interested in comparing my educational level with hers"
I appreciate the compliment, you just seem rather upset to see a Brazilian expressing her opinions about a certain politician. I guess it's just the general idea of presenting an opinion different than yours that stings. And I just said you're more than welcome to do trash Brazil's international affairs, even the national ones. I wouldn't waste my time by defending politicians or anything that goes on here.
I'm quite aware of how Holliwood is, thank you. Just half an hour watching E! would be enough. Well HERE, in South America, Brazil, actors are just pretty people not talented enough to model, participated in a reality show, suffer some kind of eating disorder or addiction, were on Playboy last month and mostly had their 15 min of fame for some absurd reason and, for an even more absurd reason, still think they can get another 15. Of course, there are still some real actors out there, but are probably going to be on yet another piece of crap like a soap opera to pay the bills or at least to not be forgotten in the chaos of pop culture we're living.
Doesn't this description sound familiar to you? most of these fake celebrities will be the same anywhere in the globe. However, they're still people meant to be respected. Their statements are simply opinions that get more attention because they're famous, not imposed opinions. I haven't seen enough of Alice Braga yet to know if she'll be any good and she's not even that pretty. All I know is that she currently goes to PUC-SP, just one of the most prestigious Universities in Latin America. Trust me, I took the exams for the same school equivalent in my state, they don't let just anyone enter. -

I will just have to respectfully disagree with you on this point.
you just seem rather upset to see a Brazilian expressing her opinions about a certain politician.
My (hopefully) new friend, that she is Brazilian is tertiary in my opinion of her. She has "gone Hollywood" and drank the "Moveon
org Koolaid." And, I've been quite kind to her compared to how I've beaten up on AMERICAN actors who've said similiarly stupid stuff!
USA is not a heroic nation
Again, I respectffuly disagree. If it weren't for the US-in large part but there certainly was international help-the USSR would still be around and threatening world peace. How much effort did the US put forth to defeat Hitler, Mussolini and Showa? As for tsunamis making the world love the US more, yes the rest of the world also helps these people. But let us compare percentage of Gross Domestic Product given to the victims from each country
And I just said you're more than welcome to do trash Brazil's international affairs, even the national ones.
I wouldn't think of it! Why would I beat up on an entire population for the words of one? It would be wrong and pointless!
I'm quite aware of how Holliwood is, thank you. Just half an hour watching E! would be enough., etc.
It seems to me that you and I actually agree far more than we disagree. It also seems to me that you have taken umbrage over a perceived slight that didn't happen. For that misinterpretation I do apologize!

That is a good point, but it has been my experience that IMDB does some serious fact checking. They wouldn't post it, allow it to remain posted, if it wasn't verifiable.

What I want to know is in what interview did she say this? Not that I disagree in the least, I just want to point out that just because it's on iMDB that doesn't make it true.
I also want to know because I can't find it anywhere. Is it as "reliable" a source as the one that said Will Smith supposedly talked about his admiration for Hitler? -

You don't have to be unaware of political affairs to realize that Mr. Bush is a sad thing not o111cnly for the USA, but for the world. And her comment is agreed by more than half of the planet. I admire her using her influential artistic image to say what has to be said. Everyone that has access to the media should do it. Actually, many of them do

Mr. Bush is a sad thing not only for the USA, but for the world.
Yeah, you're sure right-lets all just hug murderous terrorists! That'll make them leave us alone! Oh, and forget giving tax breaks to the American people-the fraudulant and wasteful goverment can use our money much better than we can! They know whats best for us, instead of us using our own minds and judgement!!! Thanks for setting me straight!
And her comment is agreed by more than half of the planet.
Oh, I am sorry-somewhere you got the wrong impression: I could care less about what people in, oh, say France, think about our President or our country in general. The whole world hates us because, as of yet, we have almost no moronic Socialism in our country, we execute mad dog murderers, etc. We are the big, bad, uncivilized bully on the block-boo hoo. Who is on speed dial for these same governments when the crap hits the fan? If you said USA, "yahtzee!" You get to stay around for Final Jeopardy!!!
I admire her using her influential artistic image to say what has to be said.
Has to be said? Jeeze, every single moronic uneducated comedian in America has been saying it for the past eight years. Get over it, "Forrest" Gore and "Stolen Honor" Kerry lost. And she isn't all that influential, or well known. I've seen her in one movie and found her performance uninspired.
Actually, many of them do
More's the pity they actually do. And when they speak out on the conservative side, people like Airhead America, etc., make vicious personal attacks against them. You see, Liberals-such as Barrack Obama, Hillary Clinton, the afore mentioned presidential losers, et al-believe in free speech only as long as that speech is under their political tent. I have had that badge of honor in here plenty of times. I offer debate and get vitriol. It just goes to show the vacuous nature of the Liberal/Socialist arguments!
Quick question: are you a kool-aid drinker, or are you willing to back up your statements?
Liberals

gmeirellcb — 17 years ago(May 14, 2008 02:43 PM)
I won't back up my statements simply because it's not worth discussing with someone who offers aggressive, sarcastic, stupid overwhelming opinions without considering the true facts or respecting opposite points of view. If you don't know how to be diplomatic (americans have trouble with that) there's no reason why waste my time and make a fuss out of a movie board.
So, yeah You're right. Liberals are idiots, Mr. Bush is glorious, AMERICA is the land of the free, home of the brave, I'm a loser, you're a winner and long live the lone star state!
Live your mundane life believing in what you think it's true. Everybody has the right to do it, just be careful, because the world is thinking in another rhythm, and you're still having archaic thoughts. But that might not make any difference to you anyway. Just by reading what you wrote I can define that the limitations of your thoughts wouldn't go too far. Imagine to oh, say France.
It's pitiful, but the best response to ignorance, is silence. -

It's pitiful, but the best response to ignorance, is silence.
True, but I have been trying to help you all the same Now, yeah Liberals are idiots-history has proven that The citizens of America ARE the most free on the globe, history has also proven that. I am not being aggressive, try "assertive." Sarcasm? Yeah, you16d0r last post earned it. "Stupid?" Only a self-important Socialist would say that-as evidenced by the leftist media here in America and your previous posts But since you've opened the door for
ad hominem
attacks, strap yourself in!
I won't back up my statements
Because you can't. History would prove you wrong, but by the tenor of your last posting you're just going to be a coward and back out. Fine, debate only works when both parties have equal footing and can exchange ideas openly. You refuse to do so, so go live your pathetic life as you please-more power to you. I just hope that
your
country isn't hit by Islamofascists-unless of course your are Islamic, then
But that might not make any difference to you anyway. Just by reading what you wrote I can define that the limitations of your thoughts wouldn't go too far. Imagine to oh, say France.
My fondest memory of France was how the collaborated with an invading Army. The way you invoke their name it is obvious to me that you like the idea If you look to France as the 'be-all, end-all' of civilization then more's the pity!!! Of course, you're obviously a sad little pacifist-'no one will do me harm if I just hug them!' Get over it, this ugly American has seen time and again that this path will fail And my thoughts go farther than you could ever imagine.

All right then. This will go on forever if we keep on backing up like this. Stick to your ideals and I'll stick to mine. I think you're wrong, and you think I'm stupid. But since I'll not change your point of view, you won't change mine, and the purposes of my posts in this website isn't politics, I'll not debate about this anymore, say whatever you want. Or maybe look for a different forum, that is if you still didn't, where politics and ideals are more often discussed.
Take care and be happy. -

I don't think you're
stupid
, just misguided. I apologize for not communicating my idea very well. Also, I do NOT support everything Mr. Bush has done. I invite you to

One would think that a total disconnect from reality is required to be an actor I mean, look at what they do-pretend for 90+ minutes! Their job description is "make-believe," what we used to do as children. Then there are the other, more dangerous liberals; politicians. Thanks to Al "Forrest" Gore there is a growing food shortage impacting the 3rd world. Well, his momma
did
say "Stupid is as Albert does!" Or something like that

IMDB cherrypicked a quote from God knows what interview and you act like she said it in front of an joint session of Congress. Maybe she did backup her statement, its not like you have the interview right in front of you. Not only did Bush severly diminish the esteem of this country he also fractured the Republican party. Thats not exactly the mark of a great president.
-
sagefoole — 15 years ago(June 06, 2010 07:19 AM)
For all of Bush's many, many faults he is still a better statesman than Algore. As far as fracturing the Republican party-there is not enough division in this failing, falling Roman Empire type country for me. Most of the Repubics in Congress aren't worth a bucket of warm spit anyways. Oh, and Chairman Maobama is doing exactly what to repair the "diminished" esteem of America? He not only embarrasses and shames me, he makes me long for and actively campaign for secession. Wow, what a "uniter." He had 3 or 4 TERRORIST attacks on American soil since he was anointed Emperor-how many attacks were there after 9/11 on Bush's watch? How many Senate seats did Bush try to sell? Bush is faulted for the inaction around Katrina-giving a full pass to the actual authorities responsible for the first response: the idiot mayor and useless governor. Oh, they are Marxi16d0st Kleptocrats. They are pardoned Barry Boo-Boo played golf, pimped out the White House to all these sleeze balls and even kow-towed to Calderon from Mexico. All while the Gulf is getting covered in oil. Pretending team Obamessiah was on it. Yeah, now, there is a great president! (retching)
Oh, and I ask her to back up her statement. Why is that a problem? Or do you never ask someone what they mean or back up what they say? Is it that she is an actress-she is an automatic unquestionable authority? Get over yourself. Go hug a tree or kiss a frog, you'll feel better.

Yeah, you're right-it didn't work out so well for those of us who try to follow the Constitution Us beep who honor it, respect it and obey it-acting just like the fellows who wrote it and caused the original Revolution We who will not comply with illegal things like Obama care and such. Then there are those like you who refuse to comply with the Constitution-the beep for brains. (Yeah, I can get snarky like you and then laugh at your ignorance) Those who would rather have dictators like Lincoln, Roosevelt and Obama enslave them instead of handling their own problems like adults.
This country is heading for another crisis, much like the crisis caused by the War of Northern Aggression. Get ready because many more of us will not t5b4olerate the Hitlers of the North trying to enslave us again. Your sick and sad socialism won't fly this time
And you still did not answer my question about holding people responsible for what they say-oh, forgot. That doesn't count for libTARDS. You tards would rather sell your self to the incompetent government for imaginary safety and security You make me sick.

Nope, not cherry picking. Just going by wht's printed. It's not my responsibility to tell her to have IMDb update her quotes. If she wants to be quoted she needs to make sure it's accurate.
It is later than you think
