Well, I love them both, but cannot say he's more beautiful than Olivia, even by a nose.
Howeverlook at them. I was shocked when I just read that she is older. Never would I have thought that. Now, granted, they were born the same year, but I would have said she was significantly younger.
Still, they are both eye candy!
P.S. The
entire
movie is an ode to the house of Dior!!! -

How can you not fall in love with Rossano Brazzi!
I love the "continental lover" types of yesteryear (Louis Jourdan and Charles Boyer as well
) You really don't see that anymore, romantic men, romantic movies!

My father was heavily involved in Italian cultural affairs in Philadelphia and he and my mother met Rossano Brazzi here in Philly back in the late 60s or early 70s, I believe it was. My mother, who usually didn't go gaga over celebrities or movie stars, was totally charmed by him and couldn't help gushing about how handsome he was! She had a picture taken with him, which unfortunately has been lost after so many years. It's sad and happy to think of this now that both mom and dad have passed on.

This year I discovered another actor who exhibited the smoldering sex appeal & twinkling eyes of Brazzi. I watched Under the Tuscan Sun for the first time & discovered Vincent Riotta in the role Martini. He doesn't actually become the love interest, so it his obvious restraint & occasional revelations of the underlying feelings that are so sexy. I've outlined more observations on Riotta's IMDb message board, to which Vince kindly replied in person! He also replied to email & we are friends on Facebookunusually accessible. He recently portrayed the Italian prosecutor in The Amanda Knox Story on Lifetime, & is in The Hour on BBC. Except for his piercing eyes, Vincent doesn't truly look like Brazzi, but there is a passion that is the essence of Brazzi that Vincent captured very well as Martini in Tuscan Sun.

Such a fine masterpiece of looks, talent and capability to handle any role, with his great looks and fluent baritone voice.
That Rossano was as perfect as they come, and he knew it, too. We need to give him some credit for modesty though, because it would have to be really next to impossible to pass up a mirror if you look that great. -

I was only eight when I saw Little Women and I remember how taken I was by his beautiful voice, manners, looks. I felt Jo was very lucky to have found this man. For me their romance was almost as thrilling and deep a romance as Jane Eyre and Rochester. His singing made me love German lieder and I love this kind of singing to this day: over 60 years later. For me, Little Women and Summertime are his greatest roles.
IMDb is shutting down its board soon. I was reading some of my old posts, ten years ago and decided to post this one last time. Too bad they can't have the respect to archive the many excellent discussions that we had.
