Never would have recognized him as Kevin from Criminal Minds. Like him as a geek in that role. Now I understand why he was written out of the show. It's a shame when any person has the problems he is has. I wish the best for him and any other person that isn't an actor that is going through the same issues.

I watched the episode where his mother said he was always "Needy Nicky".
I think Nicholas has to come to terms with the fact that his acting career is never going to reach the highs that he had when he was on Buffy. Even without the trauma he suffered as a child, it must be horribly depressing to continue on in a career that is not leading anywhere.
The truth is that most tv actors disappear after their show finishes. Very rarely do big tv stars go on to find success in the film industry and Nicholas was never a big star to begin with. Even Sarah Michelle Gellar had had a pretty lackluster career since Buffy ended, but she found happiness in her personal life.
Doing the conventions might be bringing in some money for him, considering he's in 50K debt, however it can't be helping with the depression.
I guess it must be hard at 44 to change careers and start something from scratch.
It's just really sad to see how far he's fallen in the last 12 years since Buffy finished. -

Depression is an illness that's exactly the same whether you're rich or poor.
The feeling there's no hope left in your heart is the same feeling with money on your account or not.
My feelings go to both rich and poor people who are sad and want to die, without consideration of their wealth.
