Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Connie Britton

She's supposed to be the "big" star in Nashville. However, I can't seem to stand her singing voice! It's sodead5b4! As if she's not putting enough emotion to it, it's exactly the contrary to Juliette's. Connie may be the better singing, but doubtless to say, Juliette's got the better voice by far. How do they want us to believe Connie's earnt so many Grammys and had a career spanning 2 decades?! Total bull$h!T

Yea i kinda agree, her performances are very mellow and lack luster, i feel like with the huge country star shes supposed to be she should be a little more exciting and less simple

Thank You. I feel the reason more people stopped watching is because of that. The worst is the moments she tries the duet love songs

I understand what everyone saying about her singing on this show. Her singing doesn't do it for me either. But this show is about the singers and songwriters lives behind the music world. It stories about them and their closest family and or friends. The music to me is just the back drop to what the stories are about for each episode. I don't think it just Connie's, singing that making people stop watching. It how the writers are telling the stories of these characters. That might have some people not watching. But like all shows there going to be a small fan base that enjoys the show no matter how it written by the writers. Or, even how the actors sing when in character.

I've only just discovered this show in repeats on AXSTV. I love the show, but I agree that Connie has one of the weakest voices. She sings without any significant breath support or focus into the mask of the face. I skip her singing moments when I can. If the show returns, I hope she works on that with her vocal coach.
