I just don't think she's a good actress.

She ruined the first season of 'American Horror Story' for me. Don't get me wrong i don't think she's an awful actress or anything but she's just not great, her range is terrible. Idk I'm not a troll, I just don't like her acting at all. I couldn't take her dramatic scenes in AHS seriously at all.

Agreed. I just started watching AHS and I like it (I love McDermott and Jessica Lange) but this.woman's seriously bringing the show down for me.
I'll stick with it (especially since the cast changes from season to season), but I can't help thinking this season could have been a lot better with a better actress. Or even a decent actress. -

Funny, I think she's a wonderful actress, but I admit I didn't like her as Vivian at first (I actually found Dylan McDermott really difficult to watch, too, though). I think she played her character quite realistically.
Ironically, I watched Friday Night lights (TV not movie)after season 1 of AHS and was absolutely blown away by her performance in that. I think she shows a lot more of her depth of ability in FNL. She's one of the big reasons I loved the show so much - I find her really interesting and understated.
Part of me thinks that she was miscast in AHS, but then another part of me thinks there was something brilliant in casting someone so "normal" - she looks like a mainstream TV mum you'd find on some teen drama like Dawson's Creek or Party of Five which almost magnifies the surrounding creepiness in AHS. -

Agreed. She was amazing in Friday Night Lights. I don't watch Nashville, and don't remember the first season of American Horror Story well enough to comment, but damn was she great on FNL.

I agree with American Horror Story, but not otherwise. It's like she wasn't really sure what emotions and feelings to display. At times, she was weirdly over-dramatic and then almost catatonic in others.
I don't think she's a bad actress so much as she approached that role poorly. It might've been the director's fault though. It certainly wouldn't be the first time. -

Watch Friday Night Lights. I hadn't seen her in anything before seeing FNL, and I thought at first I was going to hate her character, but she was absolutely brilliant. She's incredibly natural, and she brings so much depth to the role. Excellent chemistry with Eric Chandler as wellpossibly the most believeable married couple I've ever seen on TV. And it's a great show.
I've heard she's not as good in AHS, but it might be the direction and writing. Or maybe she just wasn't as into the role.

"Eric Chandler" !!!!!!! LMAO..
As for the acting ability of Connie,I have the same suggestion for the OP:go watch Friday Night Lights.I don't believe you'd still think she's a bad actress after watching that show.Honestly,I think she is THE best thing on FNL,well, besides Kyle Chandler of course.I'll never understand why she didn't win an Emmy for her performance on the show.Jessie

I agree completely. I started AHS yesterday and just finished watching s1 ep3. So much traumatic stuff has happened to her yet she remains in this monotone voice and always looks bored, even when they're attempting to kill her and her daughter. But maybe she's like that for a reason. Who knows
