That only works if illegal immigrants aren't eating peoples' pets /.
Which is why many people, all over, are trying to find out if it is actually happening.
But you go and get your next booster shot for the commie coof and watch Ukrainian or Russian non-birthers get burned alive for casual entertainment and shout down all those Nazis calling for kids to eat bugs

His last paragraph made complete sense.
He was talking about all of the other things people belive.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

What I write and how it is interpreted are important things to distinguish between /.
Let me know what you'd like to have a paint-by-the-numbers exercise in reading about topics which involve all sorts of people using a topic for their own ends, be that serious or trolling, and I'll get Sophie to write one up for you [smmile]

Why would I assume immigrants weren't eating pets?
Because it is not what those in a Western country are used to and never really think about it.
We just want to think about our animal companions being a loved member of the family instead of something to be eaten even though those same households eat cows, chicken, fish and pigs without a second thought.

We are dealing with a clash or realities here though.
Some people do eat animals that are considered pets in the West and they are not from the West.
These things happen, just like some people from the West eat other people from the West (With consent sometimes too!).
These are not holding hands while going to kindergarten type topics
Add a lying media in who apparently "Know" and there is nothing to trust in any tales being told until there is proof (Or absolute lack thereof).

The police have said it's not happening, the local paper said it's not happening. No major news source has confirmed it. But a certain group of people are acting like it's a sure thing. You can both-sides this all you want but claims require proof and they have none.

Well, I just want to point out that "the news" also stated Mayor Adams was an upright citizen. Then the FBI raided his house yesterday along with several of his associates as part of a rather nasty investigation.
Innocent until proven guilty, of course, however I find the sudden disclosure of corruption in his faction to be of interest. No one seems to care about that.

Oh, I completely agree with you! You're right on the money, so to speak. His PR team has the backing of Democrats and the spins that have allowed him to operate his corrupt regime and keep him in power are to blame, as they are what make up the headlines.
I think most of us with an ounce of common sense saw straight through Adams. Your point exactly! Why did it take so friggin' long?! Excellent question.

His PR team works for him. They're just doing their jobs. I doubt he's got too much support from the national party. It's a high profile job but he's a local politician so the DNC shouldn't have too much interest in him but there might be local interest groups they invested a lot in him. Which would explain the whole FBI thing.
Also that's all 100% speculation on my part with nothing to back it up. -

Adams was calling for the DNC to be held in NYC and he definitely has ties to the party, and by default, this will lead to Harris, by his own admissions. Of the people being investigated, the NYPD commissioner is in there and being called upon to resign.
Like any other mayor, their pull is within local circles. Watching all of the news, again, regardless of which side of the aisle one is on, the fallout is pretty heavy. I'm curious as to how his PR team is going to try and spin this. He's another one who has flip-flopped on issues but seems to retain power.
The FBI raid isn't speculation, however. Those are facts. The fallout is also very real. At this point, all we're speculating on is what, if any, charges will befall him and those involved.

Adams was vying for the host spot. Perhaps there were rumblings of his tainted reputation, or perhaps people were worried about the practicality as well as image. Adams even tried to "clean up the streets" in anticipation. As I've said, lots of flip-flopping with this chap.
