I have to be honest. Before Girlfriends I didn't know who she was but since Girlfriends, she has really showed her talents! She's HILARIOUS in Girlfriends and she has ventured out into movies like Beauty Shop, Motives, Something New etc. but has still stayed with the show that made her famous. (unlike s5b4ome other people) I REALLY wish her the best success and hope that she keeps acting for years to come!

Golden portrays Mya so perfectly that I really believe
Golden is ghetto( or boughetto bougeoise + ghetto lo) like Mya ( the hair & outfits add to it). But reading here I've learned she has a sociolgy degree from UC Berkely on the representation of minorities in the mediahow fitting!), a Masters from Sarah Lawrence,; is a classically trained ballet/modern/jazz dancer, used to be a professional skatergo on Golden !

yeah she is very talented. i remember her from the pete and pete days and i must say it is cool to see someone crawl theyre way up in the business rather than just being a model and being thrust into a role they arent prepared for. i would say out of all the girlfreinds she has the most RAW acting talent. followed by joan, lynn, and finally toni.

I totally agree. I rank Golden #1 as well.
I wonder if G auditioned for the Mya part or Joan part? I wonder if Joan is the center character bc Tracee is portraying offoff the fame of her mom?

I do know in the beginning stages of the show they chose two different actresses for the roles of Lynn and Toni and when those 2 dropped out, they were going to have the show be just about Joan, Maya and William but they agreed that if they were going 2 call the show Girlfriends, they needed more than 2.
