She's awful. I was actually surprised to see a good movie (Devil Wears Prada) among her list of terrible scripts (27 Dresses, Laws of Attraction, etc) until I got a copy of the Prada script and saw a bunch of other writers' names. Like Peter Hedges, who actually has talent, unlike McKenna.

Hey twelverooms, does your name imply your age? You have to grow up to appreciate her movies. They're not suited for Nickolodeon or Playboy channels.

No, actually "rooms&quo1354t; and "years" are entirely different things. I guess anybody with an IQ low enough to enjoy McKenna's movies can't be expected to understand such a simply concept.

What simple concept. Is there a concept to it? It's just a thickwitted name, tailored to your IQ level.
You would be surprised what people enjoy her movies.
Apparently, your'e not on the level to do so, and i guess, dispraising people online wont get you there, nor will it make you look bigger.

People with double-digit IQ. And you know nothing about the origin of my handle, so stop spewing nonsense. It's a literary reference, actually - one that would go
              way
above your head. Stick to crappy movies aimed at dumb women.

Granted, "27 Dresses' and "Laws of Attraction" weren't outstanding, blockbuster films, but they were good. They had solid scripts and, unlike most romantic comedies these days, flowed nicely and had endings that didn't make you question the last two hours of your life (not just because they were happy either). The stories were fresh and uniqe, and while they did have a predictability factor, you have to admit that most movies do, unless Oscar nominated.
Aline is very talented, it's just that her genre of choice happens to be the same as thousands of other screen writers; that makes it difficult to produce a film that viewers can consider different enough to spend $9.50 at a theater to see.
Her characters are very cohesive, and if you watched all of her movies again, you'll see that there is little difference between her greatest success (The Devil Wears Prada) and her minor ones (listed above). The only signifigant difference is the location of the story and a few key characters. Otherwise, the same elements transcend from film to film.
This is just my opinion, though.

And the fact that she's female is pretty awesome too. It's so easy for women to get pigeon-holed and not get the recognition they deserve, because it's such a male-dominated industry.
