Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Ted Bundy

    But now I'm just repulsed.
I had heard so much about his persona and life in the media that he seemed to have this powerful vibe about him.
Then I happened to catch footage of him in court, and a brief interview with him, and I saw who he really was: a small, petty little man with delusions of grandeur and an emasculated, whiny voice.
I was shocked to see how pathetic he was, because everyone portrays him as this suave, charming guy like Bateman in American Psycho. What I saw was an unstable, manic cowardand an insane one at that.
And yeah, he was insane, he wasn't just a sociopath. Watch his courtroom antics and then say he wasn't freakin' nuts.
I wish people would stop giving this loser attention.

"Actually, I think thats a pretty good description of the image Ted projected.
Thats one of the main reasons he is one of the best known serial killers of all times and has had several best selling books and high rated TV programs about him.
You impression of him is totally different than most peoples or there wouldn't still be so much interest in him."
Surely that's what the original poster was saying?
His initial impression of Ted Bundy was "suave, charming guy like Bateman in American Psycho", which is how some people think of him. Then he did a little more research and found out what Ted was really like (petty, flailing, desperate weasle), under his carefully constucted persona.

Theodore Robert Bundy is not a man that anyone should have to like, but jesus christ he was good looking.
his looks don't wipe out his crimes, though they do cast a shadow over that whole 'demented ugly serial killer' thing, because although he was a brutal killer, he was a smooth sexy well educated man.
he was not a 'small petty little man,' as you so vehemently claim, he was a 6 ft tall, handsome, charming and well spoken man.
his voice was a husky casual drawl, and he had beautiful green blue eyes that changed colour, depending on his mood. potential victicms and witnesses always noticed that his eyes had an intense, almost infuriated glow in them when he was about to commit violent crimes.
he had wavy ever-changing brown hair, that was thick and full and a perfect greek nose that conoisseurs would die for. his smile lit up the room, and his conversational skills were impeccable. that's how he lured many women to their doom.
and in the courtroomhe was bold and confident and pompous, and ballsy enough to represent himself. he was always suave and ravishing, atleast on the outside, and that's why he retains such a reputation. he was a real @sshole, but i can't help being attracted to him.
btw: insanity is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. Ted knew allright, he just didn't give a f-ck. the reason people keep giving this 'loser' attention is because he is a fascinating case. he had a bright future full of infinte success, but his violent lust caused his downfall.
No time for the old in-out, love, I've just come to read the meter.

Exactly. He attacked young women in their beds or once he got them isolated from others in parking lots by beating them with a tire iron after faking injuries with his fake cast routine. Then he committed lots of "sexy" necrophilic acts with the decaying bodies of his victims. Yeah, that is "sex appeal" what I noticed about him was how he comes across immediately as overly friendly and controlling. (his last interview is scary because his persona slips a few times and you glimpse the real Bundy). This would alert older, more mature types to the fact that his sense of boundaries was non-existent (other people were just "its" to be manipulated and/or murdered).
"I love those redheads!" (Wooderson, Dazed and Confused, 1993)
