The project, fully financed by Cross Creek Pictures, sold to Universum (Germany & Switzerland), Bravos (China & Hong Kong), Notorious (Italy), California Filmes (Latin America) Blitz (Former Yugo), Tanweer (Indonesia, Greece, Malaysia & Turkey) and PVR (India).

He is best known for his role in Ken Loach's My Name Is Joe (1998), for which he won Best Actor Award at 1998 Cannes Film Festival and The Claim (2000). He is the only person to win top prizes both for acting (Cannes best actor award) and for the best film (Golden lion for The Magdalene Sisters) at major European film festivals.
In television, Mullan appeared in Gerard Lee's and Jane Campion's acclaimed miniseries Top of the Lake as one of the main characters, head of the Mitcham family and father of Tui Mitcham, whose disappearance is the main topic of the series. He was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award for his work in the series.

      hey computerbunny
      hope you are well
Keepers is the sort of film I gravitate toward- And with it featuring an actor whose work I like makes it even better
if this is done well, it could be his Shutter Island/The Thing/Picnic at Hanging Rock
      love always

      thanks for posting
EDIT- the guy from Billy's Long Half Time Walk while the film seems to be well liked by critics it's not doing well at the box office

I'll stay wary of anything he does in the future. No matter how good a film of his sounds, somehow it manages to end up being thumbed down by audiences and critics alike.

The headhunter movie sounded promising, but seems to have bombed, so I have to agree. He is running out of chances to impress, beyond the action film fans.
A couple of his upcoming projects, like this one, could surprise, if he is in a supporting part, and if he doesn't mess with the script.
I was shocked by some recent pictures of him in New York, his face covered with deep wrinkles. The leading man thing is fading fast, though he still wears a tux well.
What is with him and Halloween costumes, though? This year he again dressed in a frilly costume, with garish makeup, but he wore his underwear instead of pants/tights. Why did he have "Gay me" (of thrones) written on his back? Very odd.

            barberry2,
re:HeadHunter's Calling - the film does not have a distributer and its undoubtedly stuck in Relativity hell-Kavanagh's company has been acquiring payment from a Chinese investor until this matter is resolved- every film made under Relativity most likely will be delayed
his face covered with deep wrinkles. The leading man thing is fading fast, though he still wears a tux well.
at 47, I think he's entitled to his wrinkles- it shows he has lived life so while many will find fault with his face, I am not one who does
For myself, I'm looking forward to seeing Keepers and with Cross Creek fully financing and with most major territories presold, this will be an indy film in nature
and as I understand it all 3 characters will have their moments but all 3 are supporting
            annie

while many will find fault with his face
It's an observation, not a condemnation. He has aged poorly. It will limit the "hunk" roles he is offered now, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Thanks for the update on KEEPERS! Sounds interesting I mean, they could do anything with that story since no one has any idea what actually happened to the 3 lighthouse keepers on the island. I love island stories. And smart indie horror.
Annie, Sorry I lost your PM on Keepers I had read it, but had problem with my email and lost it. Came to look it up here but appears IMDb deletes all messages after 21 days. I got the problem fixed.
Keepers came into my mind tonight when on my Facebook feed I saw a Friday post from Gerry with his assistant and friends. A Photo - He looks very good in the casual candid.
Gerry got 66,500 likes on the photo. Check FB to see. For better or worse, his hunk title will endure on he'll just be an Old Hunk - hahaha.
Sun damage in California is non-stop but it does come off with lasers like IPL or Photofacial. I'm fair and I've done laser to blend out my freckles and spots hardly see them now, really works. And then you must wear sunscreen.
AS they say if you take care of your skin, your skin will take care of you!
