If you are going by record sales, Donny has sold over 80 million records. david cassidy has sold over 25 million and that includes with the Partridge family. I just googled the info. To be fair though, Donny has continually recorded and still continues to do so whereas David doesn't do much of that any more.

I saw somewhere that Wes Farrel made over 75 million on partridge album sales
the david cassidy teen era was way bigger than donny.geez all the bubble gum cards, posters, games, toys, an album every 5 months 4 years of tv and then reruns. At school for years all it was " partridge this and david that"!! it was hugedonny was big but not like the cassidy/partridge run!! -

but cassidy was the biggest because of the tv showhe was more omnipresent..elvis was the best, but you had to see elvis on tour or buy a magazine, plus cassidy was around when there were multiple teen magazinesthe beatles dominated the teen magazines over presley in the 60's. in the 50's there were less teen magazines to cover elvis.

Elvis was a legitimate artist performer boy, though he ha the legenary sex aqppeal to teens then later when they' grown into women regarless, but he wasn;t the type of "bubblegum" star of the 1970s..

Well, I Think I Love You seems to be something that everyone knows, even later ones [one of the Scream5b4 flicks features this song], where the Osmonds, are out there working but harly anyone knows what they sang.I mean, I Think I Love You is one of those that even younger folks that have no interest basically wil at least know "Yeah, WE know that one you ue to sing it when you are our age" or' Yeah, etro" On the OTER han..as "What Osmond tune" At least ONE PF song became a permanent institution, a la that certain Archie tune about Sugar, even as seen by internet references.. yet the Osmond flicks, including Donny & Marie are still around, though that's no slam at all, as I also UGELY love them as well (even saw &M in 2011 in Vegas at the Flamingo Hilton-Marie has been a "teenage crush": of mine, me being a typical American male.]
I
For the record, uh, The Osmond open their career with their own #1 Billboard hit, "One Ba Apple", in January 1971, WEN "I think I Love you" was still on the charts an just slowly laving the #1 position!! :)]

Well if you are all going to go back and forth between Cassidy and Osmond and make this a 70's sort of thing, how about including The Jackson 5 Michael being the really popular one.. Look at the hit songs there. They were also big in Tiger Beat and all of the other teen Mags back in the day.
In the mid to late 60's it was The Monkees. I can go back even further to Ricky Nelson. He was truly a Teen Idol!
David was great but he was just one of many of the great teen idols.
