I watched What's eating Gilbert Grape just days ago and while wathvhing I felt crying wholle the movie.
In the beggining no I was looking at her and thincking poor lady maybe she's not alive noqw and I checked sites and saw that she's alive and 60 years old and I was so happy got to her site read her biography felt so sorry for her she's amazing I love her already she's got so cute face in the movie it's imposible no to lie her
adn what about the crying I felt sos orry from the episode when she went to police departament to get Arnie from there and while coming our the laughs and people watching her and her face made me cry.
her manner of walking her face in the car her acting in the house
and that Children didn't wanted her to know that they were fixing the house cause of her weighs the floor could fall that was so sorry.
and then when she was talking to Gilbert that she didn;t meant to become a joke that words made me cry very much. and her manner of speaking when she was introduced to Gilbert's girlfriend. poor lady cpuldn't walk.
when she got on the second floor by herself and fell on the bad talking to children.
and she died she died it was so sorry for her I watched her body and was crying
I thouyght if she would be my mom and happened all that I wapuld go crazy.
that's the lovely movie i hope that darlene will live more and more and be able to lose at least some ibs to be more mobile.

It is sad, but it was self inflicted. Pleanty of people go through far worse and dont end up like that.
It was quite touching at the end though after she realised actually what she'd put her children through. -

Couldn't have said it better myself, amphetama!
For never acting before, she was superb in WEGG, and perhaps it helped her heal a little. No one gets that big without several contributing factors, the least of which is emotional problems.
And no, food addiction is no different than any other addiction.
But the people who point and laugh at disabled, disfigured or obese people are no better than those that condemn gays and other minority groups. I'm sorry to say that you were born with your ignorance and you'll die with it too, hooper-xxx. -

The warmth between her and her children were as real as could be.
The film was a unique experience. Many people thought that Arny, Leo DiCaprio was genuinely as depicted. I think this was because the mother was obviously truly morbidly obese.
She was the purest of mother love, with no ego to get in her way. And the film framed this perfectly.
Depp and DiCaprio are more than pop idols, they are true artists. As were the writers and director of this film.
